Sherlock Manga Picked Up To Adapt "The Blind Banker"

Kay Ziegler

Staff Writer
Sherlockians will soon have a new way to fulfill their fantastic needs. While waiting for the new season (or series as it’s called in the UK), fans will be able to follow their favorite detective via Manga. Hooray! The Sherlock comic will be featured in Young Ace magazine (which comes out of Japan). It will be based off “The Blind Backer”. For those unfamiliar with the show or who haven’t watched for a while, this is the second episode of the series. Last year the magazine adapted “A Study in Pink” – which was the pilot episode. The series will be officially announced by Anime News Network on Saturday, November 2nd. The manga is set to debut in the very next issue of Young Ace, which releases on December 4th, so, Sherlockians, mark your calendar! The artist, known as Jay, will illustrate the new series. Jay also did the art for the first round of the comics. Will the manga be available outside of Japan? That is unclear. Will it be available on-line? Again, there is no telling yet. However, if you want to catch up on the first Sherlock manga series, it is available online for anyone to read – free of charge. If you’re interested in a hard copy of the story, which Kadokawa Shoten compiled the illustrated story into a book, you can buy it on Amazon. For those excited about the show returning, the third season of Sherlock will debut in the US on January 19th. BBC One will premiere the new season on an unconfirmed date. How mysterious does that sound? When the series returns, expect to see Lars Mikkelsen as Sherlock (as a nemesis), as well as Amanda Abbington, who will be Watson’s love interest. Are you excited about reading the manga? Or would you rather just watch the series? Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts, we’d love to hear them! http://www.Twitter.com/PopWrapped https://popwrapped.tumblr.com http://www.SoundCloud.com/PopWrapped http://www.Facebook.com/PopWrapped http://www.Instagram.com/PopWrapped http://www.Pinterest.com/PopWrapped http://www.YouTube.com/PopWrapped https://popwrapped.wordpress.com http://www.PopWrapped.com

My Sister owns this and after having a look through it I thought, this has to be manga inspired. Looks like you answered my question.

I might be down for this, live action Sherlock Holmes was kinda spoiled for me after watching the perfectly illustrated Jeremy Brett play him.
