Well considering anyone who made it my 14th floor place would have had to go through three security doors that are card and pin locked I think they might be trustworthy enough . At least they would have to live in the same building as me.

This is the Kohler Numi that I was mentioning. Got it for far cheaper since I know a few people. Basically, I got two for the price of one (one guest/public bathroom, one master bath). The only downside is the touchpad that controls some of the features. I happen to lock most of them out (like heated seat/floor) to avoid strangers/guests from breaking anything. Flush and bidet are the only features that are kept unlocked, pretty much.

so it's around 6K for a toilet ?

I'm not a fan of these 1.28Gallon per flush toilets tbh. 1 gallon for #1 is sufficient but for #2 you will need 1.6 Gallon. It's pointless if you have to do multiple flushes just for #2.

I think the price went up a bit (got mine 3 yr ago at costco $15/each) but these will work just fine. It's more budget friendly for most people. You can turn your exisiting toilets into dual flush toilets without having to pay a premium for a brand new toilet.

Do you have those light bulbs with camera built in around the house as well by any chance ? $200 per bulb

I actually got two for $4.9k.

It's actually got two modes of flushing. Half-flush is great for #1. Full-flush has swallowed down an entire roll of toilet paper and has had my brother (who has notoriously clogged up toilets for 20+ years) using it for several weeks without any issues. 1.6+ GPF toilets waste too much water. I have one that's a gravity toilet in the third bathroom (the "mother in law" suite) and whenever someone stays out there, I actually notice an increase on the water bill. A friend of mine recently installed a 3.5gpf toilet that is closer to a god-damn hurricane... I don't want to know what he tested it with.

I actually have some Phillips Hue light bulbs. My office is equipped with a Nanoleaf Aurora on the wall (with about 10 panels). I usually only use 2-3 unless I'm tinkering with robotics and electronics.

Well, I don't really like letting people into my house if they have shown up unannounced, so there is that.

But I don't live in a city or a town even, so sending someone packing if they really really need to use the toilet... I think that's just bad karma.

So probably yes I would let them use the bathroom, with some reservations towards letting the disgustingly morbidly obese into my house. (Little secret for you ultra morbids... you stink bad. You stink like death. I don't want you in my house to begin with let alone near me.)

Or they managed to be at the right door at the right time for someone to let them through without thinking about security at all.

Just a thought.

Yeah that's not happening, there is a security guard who also has to enter his own card and pin to let you through at each door. And unless you live there or are cleared by a resident you ain't getting through..Really now that I think about it the owners of my building are kinda paranoid

I had a friend who lived in a similar situation for his apartment complex. He still managed to get some oddball off the street knocking on his door in the middle of the night. His neighbor let him into the complex because he claimed he knew the guy he was there to visit but wasn't answering his phone.

I was that oddball. Was a great night. Granted, it was just one door I had to get through since he lived on the main floor, but still, if I could get through one doorway like that, how many more could i get through in the same manner assuming I am lucky enough to get someone walking through the doorway at the same time?

Yeah still not happening. The first door you have to use your card and pin number is the outside door, that gets you into reception. The second door you have to get through is fifteen feet away, it's the foyer , then there is a door in front of both the elevator and the stairs. There is a security guard who also has to clear you through each door. There are also no residents on the first floor so you have to use either the elevator or stairs to get to the apartments.

And it's not a simple phone call you need to do to get cleared by a resident. I have to physically clear you with reception , which means filing for a temporary access card and pin that I then give you . Said card and pin is good for 24 hours, without both you aren't even getting past the outside door regardless of what you or even I say. They are pretty hardcore about the security here, almost to the same degree most military bases are.
