I'm mostly watching mecha anime, rather than anime of other genres such as shonen battle, magic girl, and slice-of-life.

Very picky. I don't just pick based on genre. That's stupid and limiting. I can like almost any type, if it's well written and gets across nice ideas and looks nice, I'll at least try it. If it puts me in a good mood, or makes me feel inspired by how good it is then I watch all of it and buy DVDs. If it's good, but just not for me based on taste- I drift away from it and watch something else. I've watched 25 of 26 episodes of an anime before because I got that far and just didn't want to watch any more; put off finishing it till later but never got the desire to do so. If it's absolutely not for me, or is just garbage anyway, I know within 2 minutes. And with how repetitive and unoriginal a lot of them are nowadays, sometimes even the description is enough to put me off.

Dragon Ball series is just plain ugly, and i have found it that way since i was a kid. I'm pretty sure you can see why. That's pretty much as far as I go, other than I only do few shojo, and most long run series have no interest to me (filler arcs, etc).

If it’s a harem, I’ll pass over it without a second glance.

I'm quite picky when it comes to anime and what I'll watch. Given the six series I'm watching currently (Elegant Yokai Apartment Life, Konohana Kitan, Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Kino's Journey, Code: Realize and The Ancient Magus' Bride), Yamato is a renewed version of the older Yamato I watched when I was a kid, Konohana is just cute, Yokai is fun in its own right, Code: Realize was intriguing enough to hook me, and as for the other two...

That's the peak in my view of anime as of the current timeframe. Kino is just wonderful to watch, and Magus' Bride is the best anime in my mind over the last few years. Now granted I do watch other stuff, but not on a regular basis, and some of it (Black Clover, King's Game, Evil or Live) I won't touch with a 10 meter polearm.

I'm not too picky. I'll watch anything as long as I find enjoyment in it. that, however, is the hard part.

i try not to be picky but after watching tons of animes you start noticing repetitiveness and so im trying to look for not appreciated animes or just forgotten ones in endless search of "something new"

Heck yes.

Its bothersome when I try to watch new anime 'cause when I'm at episode 1, if I don't like it so far, ill stop.

And this happens more than I would like it to.

I use to be selective, but these days if it has too much ecchi, sex, nudity, rape... then I drop it and finish with spoilers, but, these days, it's fair game. I typically start out with fantasy, scifi, mech, horror, and end up watching slice of life, dramas, comedies... I really don't count anything off the table, unless the small plot detail is so horribly stupid I don't even want to phantom wasting my time even with reading spoilers.

I can't be selective because there are not enough anime to be selective about. In my country there so very few ways to access anime. Even in crunchyroll most of the popular anime are not licensed to broadcast in my region. I just watch any anime that are available for me to watch, and all of them are good, even the ones considered bad by the people. My anime standard is pretty low so I easily enjoy any anime.

I'm picky about the art style.

It normally needs to have some fantasy or science fiction element. I can only think of two exceptions to this: Azumanga Daioh and K-On.

If I don't spot an interesting female character, I'll probably pass.

For me yes, I'm very picky. For short anime titles; 12 episodes, I tend to be pickier than with 26 episode titles. Let me give you fine people an example. I started and finished Occult Academy today. I'm sure that's nothing to most of you guys here but the reason I loved it is because the theme of the anime is something I've been interested in for some time (the Occult and alchemy). It has to be a theme that interests me before I start an anime. I don't like anime's with too much action but not too little that it seems boring.
