Seeing that it's the only true romance show that it's not surprising. - My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan are getting lots of nominations, which is to be expected seeing that they are the two most hyped up shows this season. - Sakura Quest is also getting a lot of love as well. While not a serious contender for Best of the Season, it definitely has gotten a lot of nominations, notably for theme songs, Best Slice of Life, and is getting a good amount of character nominations. - There is an interesting assortment of characters nominated for Best Villain, and in particular somebody nominated Amazon. By far, that would be the best real-life villain seeing just how out of touch with the fanbase they are. - Clockwork Planet is running away with the worst of the season. While it's place is justified, people seem to be forgetting about Seven Mortal Sins, which is undoubtedly the biggest piece of trash out there. - It seems to me that many people are selecting shows that didn't have high expectations to begin with for Biggest Disappointment. I'm seeing a number of people nominating Tsugumomo or Anonymous Noise, which didn't exactly have anybody high profile working on it.

I would argue that 7 Sins knows it's "trash" and has fun with the premise and it's characters. Clockwork Planet had a pretty interesting premise and then just crapped all over it but still seems to think it's not. Self awareness of just how bad you are can go a long way to redeeming something. Of course, there's also the fact that I'd imagine many more people at least tried Clockwork than 7 Sins so it's a numbers game too.
