So 'Murica is less inbred than Canadians! Take that you smug bastards!

This map shows how inbred populations across the world are, among those who actually keep track anyways.

Says the inbred..... I'm joking!

Didn't realize that was the case between the US and Canada. Usually whenever I hear about inbred families I hear it as a stereotype about the southern states in the US, I never heard about any prevalent or major stereotypes about Canada having inbred families.

Edit: I looked at the chart again and realized its percentage of the population of the country, so 5% in one country can be a lot different than 1% in another country.

That would be interesting. I know my state, Pennsylvania, would be among the highest, mostly due our Amish population.

I imagine there's a strong correlation to the mobility available in an area and the percentage of population defined by small villages and/or tribes.

^ That right there. You can't bang anyone else if you can't go anywhere else and if strong family ties are a cultural component it may be seen as preferable.

But yeah, this would be more informative if we had a break down by state/province. I'm willing to bet its certain areas/communities pushing up the average in the west.

There are places in Canada that are literally only accessible by plane for half the year with populations numbering in the hundreds or a few thousand. Closer you get to the arctic the more brutal things become.

Amish are very careful about that shit.. they even pay people to have their daughters nocked up by outsiders just to keep the blood line from getting to that point.

Not as careful as that in PA, at least, I'm afraid.
