Be thankful you still got your dad.

Mine died from cancer this past April.

I guess it depends on what you dad likes.

For example my dad was a big movie goer and liked Chili's restaurant so we'd probably go to the movies then eat.

Or you can make it really special and cook something he likes.

If you still don't know what to do, get a gift card. The gift card can be from a store he likes to buy things. Like Home Depot, Harbor Freight, Starbucks, if he has a amazon account- get a amazon gift card, or a gift card from a grocery store. My dad says, like my mom, they don't need anything. So I usually buy my mom Best Buy gift cards cause she likes to shop there and enjoys when she doesn't need to pay for anything - due to the gift card. Dad will buy the tool he thinks he needs at the moment with the gift card from Harbor Freight.

If you don't know what store to get the gift card, you can get a visa gift card that they can use anywhere. They usually don't have an expiration date so they can use it a year from now.

Hope this helps. Wish you well.

I've always been pretty proud of my ability to find just what Dad wants, but this year I'm at a total loss. I hate the thought of just giving a gift card or money, but it looks like that's what I'll be giving this year. Hard to find something for the guy who's got everything and then some.

I got my dad a champagne strawberry bar. I get him that stuff because he usually opens that stuff during card games which means that I can try it. A win win and I don't have to spend my own money on the chocolate.

We all chipped in an bought him a Smith & Wesson M&P 15. He honestly looked like he was going to break down in tears when he saw it.
