I'm trying to start my 14-day free trial but when I try to apply for it I keep getting a message saying that "Sorry, you can have only one free trial per payment method." I have never used my card on CR before but it keeps rejecting it. Anyone know what's up?

I'm experiencing the same issue. Things that my help; I attempted to use a new card, when rejected I attempted to switch card types (from visa to master); both are valid cards and have never been rejected or declined before. Paypal seems to get further but I've never used Paypal in my life so I'm hesitant to use it as a default payment method, especially since I see threads about Paypal payment issues as well.

In my opinion, Paypal is better because:

You don't need to store your card in multiple sites, which increases the chance of one of them being hacked.
You can control the termination of payments through your Paypal account without needing to go through CR's accounting system.

Contacted staff; immediately got 3 emails. 1st; basic "someone will contact you soon!" stuff, 2nd; "did you make sure to check the Knowledge base?" which is frustratingly laughable, and 3rd; "Sorry about this unknown issue. You don't have a a premium account but I'll activate the trial for you". I refreshed the page and it seems to be working. They also included a link but to be honest the email is worded strangely and is a bit difficult to understand.

TLDR: contact staff, they'll get back to you and fix your account because it is an account issue that they seem to know of and are working on.

(that may be wishful thinking but I worked in a customer service contact center and know how these things tend to go.)

The first 2 you received are automatic email. Everyone gets these.
