I'd like to go out in a blaze of glory, so I choose Ultra-Cremation. Instead of being put in a box then burned in a furnace, I want to be placed in a space pod and jettisoned into the Sun.

I hope we die at the same time just cause ya get me on the "set me on fire" trope

Yeah, I always liked the idea of ending in fire. One of the things that set humans apart from the rest of the Animal Kingdom is our use of fire. So if that is how humanity began, it just seems right to have the spirit of Prometheus embrace me as I leave this earthly realm.

However, I find normal cremation fairly boring. It's not much different than cooking lasagna; you put me in and wait until I'm done. Something like a Viking funeral would be more interesting, but I still felt it was missing something. So I thought the best thing would be to fly my way past Venus and Mercury, and reach the great ball of fire we revolve around. And as I pierce the corona, the heat will be so great that I will become a being of pure plasma, at which point I would dive through the photosphere, claim the star as my own, and I would become Ra.

And furthermore, I will not need any kind of memorial on Earth. If people wish to see me, they simply need to turn their eyes to that shining ball in the midday sky, and watch as I shower them all with light and warmth, and I will be worshipped as a giver of life.

And it. Shall. Be. Glorious.

How is being turned into a tree any weirder than being buried? the only difference is that you have been cremated and instead of a stone marker you have a tree.

Feed me to the animals at the zoo. Should save them some money.

It's quite likely that doing this is probably a bad idea; we don't need zoo animals developing a taste for human meat...

Ideally I'd be buried under a peach tree. Peaches symbolise immortality.

That being said, I also want to be buried under a statue of Miku Hatsune with a sword.

Do you know "Journey to the West" Chinese series or Story of the monkey king ?

they have peaches that you can eat to add thousands of year to your life... except they look like infants

personally ? i don't see why people need to spend so much money on burying someone. what happened to the more natural way of burial ?

shovel-- digging a hole and put the body in -- put some tree branches on the pile of dirt and let nature takes its course (decomposition). Someone lost a loved on and yet people are making profits of their death...

I say it's best to get buried at sea (seawater corrodes and disintegrates just about anything) or cremated.
