You know it's sad when a poor young girl gets raped. What WAS she doing walking the streets wearing THAT?

Well, we are dealing with an "adventure travel company" whose slogan is literally "budget travel to destinations your mother would rather you stayed away from". With North Korea off the table they still offer tours to Turkmenistan and Eritrea! The only other two countries on the planet as repressive as North Korea.

Seriously though, the worst countries on the planet in terms of freedom of speech/press are North Korea, Eritrea and Turkmenistan in that order and these chucklefucks offer "budget" tours of all three.

This is the first I've heard about security footage, you've made me a bit curious about that. But as for your question, I already explained that in the same post you previously quoted

It's possible that the charge was made up. I mean, I wouldn't put it past North Korea to just nab someone at random and make up a charge just to make a political statement or get a bargaining chip. And while I don't recall the details of his confession, I remember thinking that some of the stuff he said sounded like things he was being forced to say.

North Korea has a history of detaining foreigners, and releasing them when said foreigner's head of state comes to negotiate their release. It's an internal propaganda victory for them. "See how great we are, this great world leader came to beg us for a favor!" Or something like that. Of course, that particular practice has fallen off recently due to increased tensions, but it's possible the incident was cooked up for a similar purpose.

Was the girl warned there was a rapist hanging out on ever street corner and was breaking the law by walking down the street naked? Because that is the only way your logic is even remotely comparable

Simple answer, yes. This is North Korea we are talking about here. A country that would send out assassins to poison the ruler's half brother in another country for fear he would rise up and start a coup. Knowing any American in the country can be used as a source of propaganda and a bargaining chip is not some I'd put past them.

So, we can assume, from this deplorable display of logic that you and a few other choice users have, that if the woman HAD known about a rapist within her community that the blame falls upon her if she gets raped?

I suppose there's nothing left to say here if that is the way you believe things should be done.

Also, whoever said the woman wasn't wearing anything? Have you never heard that rape apology line before?

So if someone puts their hand on a red hot burner on a stove do you blame the stove or the person stupid enough to pot his hand on it even though he was warned the stove was hot?

The person, of course. The stove is not a sentient being capable of possessing an awareness of the repercussions of harming an individual or individuals. It is a tool, albeit, in this situation, rather misused.

It is the same logic why we do not blame guns for the death of gunshot victims.
