It's been around for a while, sadly it's not that great so far. Maybe it'll improve in the future

Had literally zero issues with HiDive and ive subbed since launch. Must be a American issue, i will say though its been a god send for me in the uk. A lot of stuff unavailable elsewhere, dubs and subs, uncut and even exclusive simulcasts.

Just waiting on console apps but despite being newest streamer on the scene its hard to argue you get a decent amount for the cheap sub price.

What skews it for the US is that virtually all the Sentai licenses were on Anime Strike.

Whilst we in the UK had Hozuki, Land of the Lustrous, Girls Last Tour, Just Because, Himouto Umaru, Shobitch, Classaloid being simulcast on HiDive, along with dubs like Gate & DanMachi. I really don't like Sentai's English dubs, but there's certainly a lot of content on HiDive.

The only problems I've had is trying to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

I just started watching stuff on HIDIVE, and the loading times are the biggest problem that I have. And the fact that I keep getting errors saying that content is not currently available is just a big pain. But nevertheless, it's a huge improvement over ANO that had all sorts of problems due to the lack of maintenance and updates. And I'm hoping that a PS4 app will soon be out, but so far that's not in their immediate plans.

Not even close to “virtually all”. They had a couple seasons of simulcasts and less than two dozen catalogue shows. Hidive has 150+ series and movies. Honestly, I think it’s quite good for fairly new site. It’s not perfect, but I’ve seen much, much worse (TubiTV, Viewster, etc.)

Its ok. Buffers for about 10-15 seconds before it decides to play, and 75% of the time the subtitles don't come on so I have to keep on refreshing the video until it does.

That's not been my experience here (about 350 miles south of you). Buffering seems to be only a few seconds, and while I can't swear subtitles have never come up (I think that may have happened at least once on LoTGH), it remember it being a "that doesn't happen" type of experience. For the record, my internet speed is about 25-28 Mbps down on a smaller regional cable carrier.

I've been on Hidive for some time now, and have had no problems, which is strange, since I live way out in the boonies and always have problems with internet, but am enjoying this site and have recommended it to some of my friends. (I hope I haven't cursed myself)

Buffering on the PC is very long for me as well, along with missing subs. It is the only site I have a problem with. (Customer service is probably tired of me already, but they do respond in a very timely fashion).

The device app works very well, however.

Out of curiosity what browser do you two use (I normally use Chrome for HIDIVE), and what is your ISP?

Chrome/Spectrum
The ISP is not the issue as my current high volume has no other problem. HiDive also assured me it wasn't Chrome. However, when only one site has issues it leaves me wondering.

I've only used it on my iPhone app (with data), but I just tried it on Firefox. Subtitles are fine but it still takes about 15 seconds before the video starts playing, runs fine once it does start playing. And AT&T.

Signed up a few days ago, running it on my laptop with Chrome. Works fine so far! I do hope they get on the Roku app tho so I can watch on my TV. For now I'm just thrilled to watch season 2 of Hoozuki no Reitetsu!

So after watching on this new service for awhile, I figured a way around the loading problems, and that is not to use autoplay. When the episode ends, go back to the show page, and then click on the next episode. Anyway, I signed up last December since I want to watch stuff, and now that I don't need to subscribe to Anime Strike anymore that I can use the money saved on a HIDIVE subscription moving forward. The $4 a month ($5 for 1080 quality) will be good for two years after the end of the introductory rate ends if you subscribe prior to the rate hike and maintain your subscription, so I'm planning to keep it up until 2020.

I just got an email from HiDive announcing North American releases of another four former Amazon-exclusive Sentai titles:

https://www.hidive.com/tv/himouto-umaru-chan-r

https://www.hidive.com/tv/princess-principal

https://www.hidive.com/tv/love-and-lies

https://www.hidive.com/tv/vatican-miracle-examiner

Hopefully, it should be only a matter of time until Made in Abyss and Girls' Last Tour.
