( no word on other consoles though). Also, Amazon fire tv (does anyone even use that?).

Only about 35 million people...which is over 10 million more than people who use Apple TV

Well that's because Apple tv is over-priced garba..... I mean.. Uhh. Apple products are great!! Buy one now!! *cough*

I've just never met anyone who uses a fire tv.

Most of the people I know who have streaming devices have Fire Sticks. Just about everyone shops at Amazon and they really push them and sell them fairly cheap too.

Sadly, all my friends, family, and co-workers have chromecast. So, that is probably why.

Speaking of hidive. Currently on my iPhone it’s not in the mood to use subtitles which would be preferred as I do not speak Japanese. When I click the in video thing to change subtitle stuff it crashes. Lol. Oh well that’s a problem for a different day. I too would enjoy a console app tho. I don’t hate watching on my phone but there’s a bunch of minor inconviences in their mobile app that I could live without and would hope those issues would be addressed for both iOS and whatever else they bring it to.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this or tried it but it looks like Hidive has a temporary fix for your subtitle problem.

I have a different subtitle problem where my android phone likes to default to Portuguese or Spanish LatAm subs whenever they are available. I'd also like for the pause/resume icon to use more of the corner space. Whenever I tap that corner of the screen to pause, I end up missing it. Icons for rewinding/skipping 5 or 10 seconds would be nice as well.

I stream HiDive on my TV through my Mac. I was having that problem where subs were defaulting to Portuguese. I went into Edit Profile and in the Streaming section, I changed my setting from Japanese to English. That fixed the problem.

Well the Fire TV app is out....they've now built one for both of the LEAST used streaming devices. Still no exact date on Roku launch, and Chromecast isn't even listed as in development. *facepalm*

FTV is basically Android, so it was probably just a branch from that, and took the least amount of effort to get it ready...

HIDIVE has added a yearly subscription option.
The price is equivalent to 12 months of the beta monthly plan and is 20% less than 12 months under the current monthly plan.

so basically they duped people with the "subscribe before May 1 or you will have to pay more" campaign.

I guess you could say that for people who subscribed early. Most people may have subscribed during March and April so they would have already paid $4 or $8 for the service so far. I don't think it's that much of a loss considering the yearly subscription is the same as 12 months of the beta monthly subscription.

The yearly subscription is mostly for convenience for those who don't want to be billed monthly.

Actually it isn't

Their website says it is, but it's nowhere to be found either by searching on the Fire TV device, or Amazon's app store. The only thing available in Amazon's app store is for the Android app.

Wow, HIDIVE is really crapping the bed as far as apps go.

Wonder how much Amazon is to blame for that...

Possibly some, but HIDIVE shouldn't be advertising on their site that it is available until they know it is working.

The Amazon page for the HIDIVE app has been taken down, but the message about the app being available and how to obtain it are still on HIDIVE's website.
