So, I just finished Toradora! and Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions before that, and both were great series. But can anyone in the CR community direct me to a romance/comedy anime that's not set in high school, with adult main characters instead of teenagers?

They're in high school in that anime.

On topic, Chobits would fit the bill but I haven't seen it in years so I don't remember if it was really any good.

I'm unsure of the anime vertion but the manga for a town where you live/ kimi no iru matchi
It started in high school but moved into collage and even had after collage settings just depends on how far the anime went

Hmm. Most of the romance/comedies I can think of use a high school setting. I can think of plenty with adult characters that are one or the other genre, but seldom both.

Nodame Cantabile - starts out with the characters in University, I believe, and continues afterward. However, if you hate classical music you'll probably vomit.

Maison Ikkoku is considered a classic. The protagonist is a 20-year-old ronin, that falls in love with his landlady.

Honey and Clover - university students again.

Arakawa Under the Bridge - far more comedy than romance. Maybe if you squint.

Ah my Goddess (don't remember it too well but I think its a bit of a harem)
Amagi Brilliant Park (mostly just comedy)
Antique Bakery (not sure if this one fits actually...)
Arakawa Under The Bridge (mostly comedy)
Clannad After Story (Clannad season 1 is in High School though)
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu (not a typical rom/com but a very unique anime to watch)
Genshiken (mostly a slice of life)
Golden Time
Itazura na Kiss
Nodame Cantabile
Sekirei (not a rom/com more of a action harem. Its a little funny though.)
Steins;Gate (romance and comedy only a part of it)
Welcome to the NHK (not much romance)
Wagnaria! (slice of life gag anime with romantic comedy undertones)

Not everything in this list is a typical romantic comedy, but they all focus more on adult lives.

Honestly, I hear this request of anime that don't take place in high school fairly often. But no matter how you slice it, all the best rom/coms take place there... I had to scrape the barrel a bit to find anything with even slight romance/comedy undertones to make a list. And I watch a LOT of anime.

Thanks everyone so much for the replies! It's going to take me awhile to parse through all these names, especially since alot of these aren't on CR, but I look forward to discovering some great shows that I never would have heard of otherwise.
