Were you? Also, this is about if you were spanked, not if spanking is right or wrong. That's a debate for another day.

Edit:I know this is going to turn into a debate either way,so have fun.

No I never was, parents didn't believe in physically hitting as a punishment. They got through to me better when I was misbehaving by taking stuff away from me which always worked pretty quickly.

I have cousins that were spanked and it often made the situation worse. Kid crying + spanking = kid screaming even more and not resolving the misbehaving. They grew up to be not so nice sadly and teaching their kids that hitting others is ok

Yes. My parents were good about that though. Only under one condition were we given that as punishment: The action me and my big brothers took were immediately threatening to our lives, and there was no time or space to hope that we understand the seriousness of our transgression. I'll probably do the same as a mother, it's a punishment reserved for when my child's life is on the line. Not for petty frustrations like some people seem to use it for.

Yep. I have nothing against my parents either for doing it. I know I deserved it at the time.

Yes I was. Always made me think first before I did something. Will it be worth the ass beating I could get if caught.

Yes, the most harrowing spanking was with a cross.

Let's just say I'm not religious today lol.

Yes, all but one was unjustified. Was no point in taking my things away. one: we were a struggling family, didnt have much to take away. Two: i had a SUPER active imagination. no TV? no problem. NO outside? no problem. No games? no problem. i always found a way to make things fun.

Oh yeah.

When I was really young (mind you, with several older siblings) my dad had a wooden spanking tool that he called "the bun buster". It's name was written on it, along with a bunch of phrases akin to "abandon all hope". He would write our names on it every time we got spanked.

Nowadays, it's a pretty hilarious story to tell. And we sure as hell were afraid of it at the time. I don't see anything wrong with it though, as I can't recall ever being spanked unless I was really asking for it (often after I had already been warned yet continued misbehaving).
