Oh yeah.

When I was really young (mind you, with several older siblings) my dad had a wooden spanking tool that he called "the bun buster". It's name was written on it, along with a bunch of phrases akin to "abandon all hope". He would write our names on it every time we got spanked.

Nowadays, it's a pretty hilarious story to tell. And we sure as hell were afraid of it at the time. I don't see anything wrong with it though, as I can't recall ever being spanked unless I was really asking for it (often after I had already been warned yet continued misbehaving).

lmao, the "abandon all hope"part killed me."The bun buster" actually sounds quite terrifying.

All the time
But I learned my lesson
I remember once when I was 6, give or take, I asked my mom if the stove was hot
She said 'I don't know, touch it'
I learned my lesson real quick

Sure thing. Taking my things didn't work, because I was a major day-dreamer. Grounding was only 50 percent effective. What I dreaded, though, was writing lines as punishment, and having to sit still and straight while on my knees for extended periods of time. Spanking is painful, but quick, unlike several alternatives. The knees-thing would give me swollen kneecaps for hours afterwards, and the writing gave me a writer's callous that I still have.

My Dad and Grandma was for spanking me. My mom wasn't. Within a year an a half I changed her mind. Got my ass whooped quite a few times.

a few times, but i was a pretty good kid and didn't need it much; even when i did it wasn't really effective for me. harsh words did a lot more harm to me than physical punishment

i think spanking is ok, but it shouldn't be done in anger. like calm down first lol. but go through with it if you've already told the kid he/she gonna get it. make sure the child understands why he/she is receiving the punishment.

My mom used to try to spank me but I would struggle until she ended up laughing/making a game out of it. She was a terrible parent who had zero control over me and my siblings, mostly because she spent all day every day getting stoned in the bathroom.

My dad might have spanked me once, but I don't remember. He never even needed to threaten because we knew he didn't play games.

Plenty. Didn't do me any good, probably made me worse, & I still hold a grudge towards my mother over it (and some other things).

Looking back, I behaved much more whenever I wasn't spanked...

Yes in school also, my parents believed in physical abuse and my parents would make sure that if they were mad would look for anything to make them angrier or make them stay angry so they would hit harder and I always ended up with welts on my back.

Yes. And iam glad for it. I think it most def taught me right from wrong. It didn't make me always do the right thing but it made me think about and fear consequences.
I like to think that i was already a good person by nature, a person who was kind and had a conscience but i think being smacked was a good thing.

Of course i hated being grounded. But even that taught you a lesson. Not being allowed out or to have friends come over or having your stuff being taken away.
I think my dad fucked with my mind a bit which wasn't good.

But yeah my mates that never got any discipline were the ones that were doing crimes and getting into more trouble at school and that.
I was easily influenced and follwed a bit, my grades at school went down and i got into drugs n stuff but when my mates wanted to go out and do crimes i would never go. Iam pretty sure my discipline played a role in that.

yes, sometimes
my mom also put liquid soap in my mouth, which then mixed with my saliva so every time I breathed bubbles formed
I started to laugh- not thinking it punishment anymore- and that just made it form more, for a good 8 minutes

my mom felt bad lol

This is what to do if you want screwed up kids lol.

I abandoned that long ago as a method of child control. They don't really listen anyway, lol, and then they just hate you in the end.

Yes, I was. I hit my younger brother, so I deserved it.
