And since we can’t contain our excitement any longer, we’re going to kick things off with the co-creators of Yuri!!! On ICE, Mitsurou Kubo and Sayo Yamamoto.

Mitsurou Kubo debuted in 1996 with a piece titled Shiawase 5-han, which ran in a manga magazine targeted towards women. In 2001, she serialized her series 3.3.7 Byooshi!! for the Weekly Shōnen Magazine and published 10 books. For the same publication in 2004, she published Tokkyuu!!, releasing 20 books. Her most popular manga include Moteki (also known as Love Strikes!) in 2008, which had both a drama and a movie adaptation, and Again!! in 2011, which also had a drama adaptation.

In 2016, together with director Sayo Yamamoto, she co-created the incredibly popular ice skating anime series, Yuri!!! On ICE, and contributed original character designs and storyboards. Beyond the worlds of Manga and Anime, Ms. Kubo is also active on radio and television. Read more about Ms. Kubo's list of works on Anime News Network, My Anime List, and AniDB.

Sayo Yamamoto is prolific in both storyboarding and directing. Since her credits include several episodes of Shinichiro Watanabe's Samurai Champloo (storyboards and episode director), Ergo Proxy (storyboards and episode director), Psalm's of Planets: Eureka Seven (storyboards and episode director), High School of the Dead (storyboard), and Space Dandy (storyboard and episode director), just to name a few..

Her full directorial debut came in 2008, with the adventurous Michiko and Hatchin television series, and in 2012, she directed her second television series which was titled Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. Then in 2016, she directed the incredibly popular ice skating anime, Yuri!!! On ICE -- to which she is also credited with creating the original concept and the series composition. Anime Expo Announcement #2: Introducing the Crunchyroll Foyer!

Picture this: You’ve just successfully completed what is probably the first of MANY hauls from the Exhibit Hall, and you’re off to see what else is going on at Anime Expo this year. You decide to head towards the Entertainment Hall -- because hey, there’s cool stuff there, too -- and you notice that the very large and usually very empty space of the foyer area has been taken over . . . BY CRUNCHYROLL!

TA-DA! For the first time ever in Anime Expo history, events are happening in the foyer. Actually, a lot of events are happening in the foyer. So much so that we can only fit a few of those things into today’s announcement.

First up -- Let’s take a moment to clarify exactly where and when all these fun and exciting and totally awesome things are happening.

The Crunchyroll Foyer will be located in that triangle-shaped space attached to the West Hall Lobby. It will be open from 10:00AM to 6:00PM from Saturday to Monday and 10:00AM to 3:00PM on Tuesday.

Now onto the fun and exciting and totally awesome things -- who's good at Skee-ball?!

Our friends over at VRV are taking us back in time with their very own rendition of an old-school game room. The borderline creepy animatronic animals are definitely NOT invited to this party, but there will still be plenty of games to play and tickets to win. (Sorry, no ball pit though.)

Just be sure to visit the VRV booth (#21) in the Entertainment Hall to redeem those tickets for all kinds of prizes. From friendship bracelets to dinosaur skulls, we have a variety for you to choose from.

And while you’re at the VRV booth (#21), you will definitely want to check out the contest that VRV is running all weekend long because one lucky winner is going to score a GOLD PS4!

( Curious about VRV? VRV is a new video service made by Crunchyroll dedicated to serving the fandom. VRV is home to your favorite channels like Crunchyroll, Funimation, Cartoon Hangover, Rooster Teeth, Adam Savage's Tested, Geek and Sundry, and more! )

The Crunchyroll Foyer will also play host to some incredibly talented artists!

We are bringing back the musical stylings of DJ eHash and DJ PrEyX who kept our live stage rocking last year to keep the mood fun for everyone who stops by.

With the excitement of the premiere of the first three episodes of The Ancient Magus' Bride we are also bringing out chalk artist Eric Maruscak to draw a giant poster of The Ancient Magus' Bride LIVE over the weekend.

We’re also bringing back the wildly popular Yuri!!! On ICE photo opp that debuted at Anime Central in Spring. So start practicing your best reaction poses for the Kiss and Cry cause Victor and Yuri will be waiting!

And if all of that isn’t enough to pique your interest, then stand by for tomorrow’s announcement because we’ve got a whole lot more going on at the Crunchyroll Foyer that we couldn’t fit here including free stuff, Premium Member rewards, and special exhibits!

Ok i ll just say it and i don't care if it's out of topic, i dont know many 30+ people that sit and watch anime, but i am a fan and i am properly turned off by the no dub policy you have because i want my kids to watch and they can't read cause they are young but understand english. So SUB isnt allways > than DUB. Too bad that we are in Europe and can't get FUNimation but i would just because of their DUB policies...

Im not sure of the avalibility of VRV in Europe but i do suggest checking it out, that would be your best bet of streaming funimation shows and getting the dubs you want

Unfortunately Vrv doesn't work either but you can't even cast with that so I wouldn't bother. Crunchy is quite a good baseline for anime lovers but that pretentious fan base that says sub is always better than dub is killing the introduction possibilities to younger audiences. I mean the dubbed shows are out there what's the harm in having them parallel to the sub ones?...

I say let your kids still watch anime with you! My kids started watching anime with me at a very young age and I attribute their excellent reading skills today partly to them having to read subs quickly!
