OMG. I used to love bento lunches as a child. Asian parents prepare such nicer lunches than typical American kids. I loved bento boxes in Korea. Then I came to the US and my parents wanted me to fit in but made me deli sandwiches. The kids with bologne sandwiches or peanut butter sandwiches would think my sandwich was weird.
Hm.... A slice of bologne in cheap white bread versus Multi-grain bread with deli mustard, tomatoes, cucumbers, red-leaf lettuce, honey smoked ham, oven turkey, swiss cheese.
Anyway, god I want to raise a family in Asia just so my wife or I can make cute little Bento art for our kids once in a while.
