http://www.consumerreports.org/broadband/how-much-broadband-speed-do-you-need/

I'm currently using 50Mbps. It's sufficient for 1080p video streaming and some gaming on the side. I think we will need a faster speed (once the price goes down a bit). they are charging me $45-$50 a month for this plan.

There was an article about bringing Google fiber to Phoenix but i have yet to see anything yet... I saw a Cox flyer about Gigabit internet a few months back but when i put in my zip code to check for availability Why would you advertise about some service in areas where the service is not even available...

ISP charges me $45/mo

Video streaming at 4K HDR doesn't stutter.

Although, I would love to have a gigabit connection with good ping times.

@ home I have 1 gig per second that runs a little over a hundred bucks a month but totally worth it. It is Broadband so it's distributed among my households devices. I do a lot of gaming and use it for work sometimes.

I've heard that with fiber optics you get no distribution among your devices, so if you have 500 mbps, each device will get the full 500 mbps, which is pretty badass. If this was in my neighborhood I would def jump on it.

18Mbps would be great, just something you need for anime, gaming and other things.

Are City-Owned Municipal Broadband Networks Better?
http://www.consumerreports.org/municipal-broadband/are-city-owned-municipal-broadband-networks-better/

there's no such thing as municipal broadband here

it's either Cox or CenturyLink (Qwest). We need more competition to bring down the price and up the speed..

Pretty much the usual. 105/20 tier

Streaming to multiple tvs, gaming and decent download speed.

I have 75mbit cable. It's pretty nice. More than enough for two people. Fiber is supposed to be coming to town this year or next, and they supposedly will offer 1gbit for $60/month. I'll make the switch when it becomes available.

$100 a month 24mb/s

Pretty fast for Australia and in a small country town.
Wish it was 50 mb/s (Australia can get there if you live next to the tower)

(ookla says top speed in australia is 500mb/s but i highly doubt that unless you live next to the tower are paying the $100 elite internet nbn and are using fiber in a new bought house where they really only installed the fiber and even then i doubt you would get it that high)
