ok, looking around, damn... I mean... damn... a lot of folks are having to deal with crazy heat this weekend (some have been in it for weeks, others it's just getting there)

So what's your strategy? does it involve a high-speed cnxn and your cR membership? finding a movie theater and cooling down on someone else's dime? (plus hey, popcorn and chocolate)

What about your pets? Frozen bottles of water and facecloth attacks? ;-)

Only gonna hit 100 where I am, but with two cats, no AC, and a wife away for the day, got to get my plan going ;-) (My studio's gonna get to warm to draw paint, model, etc... sigh.)

Stay cool all....

My home has A/C, thankfully. I'll probably spend most of my time indoors and only go outside for yard work, etc. during the cooler parts of the day.

In the times before I had air conditioning if it was really bad I'd keep a damp cloth wrapped around my neck (odds are, my shirt's soaked with sweat by that point anyway). A lot of blood passes quite close to the surface through your carotid, so keeping a damp cloth there will do a lot to cool your body down.

(Conversely, for those who rely on frozen treats to beat the heat, in my experience the sensation of brain freeze will pass a bit quicker by placing a hand over your throat.)

I just have an open window and a fan blowing while I watch some anime today.

Snuck through the heat by being crazy with a tower fan... looks like this summer's gonna be all about trying to dodge the sun. Oof. Not enjoying that my tower puts out a bit of heat too (it's beefy, got good cooling, etc but you know...), so even ducking here to watch a bit now and then may not help! Grr etc.
