I don't see the appeal of moe shows. I didn't want to be biased so I decided to watch a couple of shows like "Love Live" and "Dragon Maid" and "K-ON"Nah, they are trash.

Honestly Dragon Maid is more like a slice of life type of anime

I don't really like moe either, but nichijou is an exemption.

What I don't like about moe is that it's just a bunch of cute girls looking cute and doing cute thinga

WELL nichijou is GOLD

You'll like nichijou!

But like, are you asking for non-moe recommendations? (I've got plenty!)

I feel there is a bit of a problem with your suggestions here. I am normally not a business minded person, but you are trying to get an industry to produce a less profitable genre of anime in order to appeal to your tastes on what I interpret as the reasoning that your tastes are more "legitimate" in nature. While yes, I suppose there are less "moe" anime when anime was a far more niche interest in the US and even in Japan, times simply changes, as does culture. If you want to modify the current anime market to affect the popular demand, it is a two way street, but one no one knows how or wants to drive on. It isn't so easy to predict what changes will happen years from now. Dot.Hack was popular enough in its day, but now we see a whole bevy of game inspired anime from Sword Art Online to the upcoming In a Different World with a Smartphone. It is far harder to curb any significant market that varies widely in demographic desires to a specific goal, even if it is restricted to one or a few.

In essence, you can lead a swine to pearls, but they much rather eat their common slop. I suppose one could drive them away and hope the more intellectually stimulated could replace them, but again, I doubt it as much as I doubt swine will fly or walk upright anytime soon.

That being said, while I do like moe, I also like to indulge in many of the anime you have listed, Code Geass being a favorite of mine. However, I find your claims regarding the fanbase as being composed of "pedophiles" to be both incendiary and the pushing of a stereotype (However "reasonable" it might be with certain anime, such as Fate Prism), as well as the hyperbolic claim that we are "turning back into apes" due to moe anime. I wonder how moe is any less legitimate than other anime as entertainment or art to you?

It seems to me you are acting in a manner similar to an ass and wish you acted with more consideration due to others. That is but my humble opinion. I hope I do not offend you or appear to demean you unnecessarily. This isn't the intention of my post, but a necessary byproduct to demonstrate my possibly valid points.

To recapitulate my points:

-Why should they stop producing moe anime when the profit clearly exists? Is there more profit to be made with shows like Showa Genroku?
-Where is the proof that moe anime seizes the market from your favorite anime, or that producing less of it will mean "better" anime is produced in larger quantities?
-What is your exact reasoning for why we should produce less moe? It seems you find it boring, or less intellectually stimulating. I happen to think it is a nice way to end my work day.
-How do you expect to succeed in the first place, regarding the extreme difficulty of trying to forcibly enact a cultural change?

I've seen you around on the forums and it seems like every time you post, it is about how horrible moe is. Instead of acting like a [word I won't say] and spewing your hatred for moe, why don't you just follow the golden rule and comment when there is something you can actually contribute to a conversation rather than trying to hate on what other people love just because you can't seem to understand that you don't likey doesn't equal worthless garbage. Seriously, please find a better use of your time.

I would offer a serious comment as a reply to this topic if it weren't for the fact that the only posts I ever see from this OP involves him bashing moe as bait to incite others.
