I hope so. /b/ died long ago so it would be nice if it revived elsewhere.

I remember reading the one where the fuck ontop a mountain in the dark and its basically rape? Fulfilling a prophecy

No no, see, the prophecy called specifically for period sex: "Lightning will find him on that path, for the one in white, his true beloved, will betray him in her blood.". She was in a dark room with who she thought was Richard's brother but they had actually switched so it was Richard. She "betrayed" him by enjoying it too much with who she thought was Richard's brother but was really Richard and that made Richard sad. Also she was menstruating just because.

Approves.

Hmmm maybe I did get to book 7,.. Cause I remember him being king cause.... reasons?????

And he definitely had his S&M harem cause I remember the raped and abused girls that grew up to be vicious women who fell in love with him and though they also might have been totally into each other (and his wife is TOTALLY ok and into it BTW), he is teh awesum, but like, he's sad so yeah, it's totally not wish fullfillment.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATED the series. I just had waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time back in the earlier internet days when my mother was one of the last holdouts of dialup..

I never read 8, which is suppose to be the end I guess and I assume he becomes King because reasons or something.

Yes, the harem of red leather catsuit clad lesbian dominatrix that just end up as his personal guard because reasons. But it happened in a *sad* way so its okay. Just like how later on he has a creepy scene where he has them all show him their breasts so he can fondle them to "find a curse". Because that's where the curses always are. In the boobies.

Well, much like the Wheel of Time the first book is promising and then the slow realization that the author has no idea what he is doing but would still like to fap to it sets in after that. Till you realize you're reading them out of spite.

Still, at least Goodkind had an applicable fetish. Jordan resolved a love triangle/square/octagon after several books by just having all the teenage girls agree to be sister wives because none of them could give up the D. Even though it was attached to possibly the most worthless and insufferable male character in the book. And I'm including Matt. Whose chapters I began to routinely skip after Jordan decided to split up all of the main characters and turn the series into a disjointed random assortment of chapters.

You never knew who the fark or where the fark the next chapter was going to be. Could be a main character, could be a side character, could be a villain, could be two bit characters they met 2 books ago whose names you don't even remember.

For someone who doesnt know the books im just imagining ur reaction lmao

It's okay, though. They point out several times (then drive it home in Omen Machine) that prophecy is both literal and figurative at the same time. All prophecies are people trying to write down something they or someone else experienced in vivid hallucinations.

Omen Machine's titular character also forces things to be true that weren't true.

Yep. You know they turned it into a TV show too right? >.>

An awful, awful TV show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96OrBX1epXM

Where neither main actor looks like the character they're suppose to portray. Richard's "steely grey eyed raptor gaze" whom every other woman in the books describes as the most handsome man in the world is replaced by a short, fish eyed Australian who looks to be about 16. Which makes Kahlan look like she's pulling a hot for teacher in the show.

Edit: Ugh, I just noticed at the start she's being chased by 6 guys when the whole point in the entire opening of the first book was that she was being chased by a Quad. You know, specifically 4. >.>

They knew that in moving from the written word to television there was a distinct risk of CGI daggers and had to plan accordingly.

Well, when the original screenwriter dies and after a few years of development hell it ends up inexplicably being produced by a Youtube star instead of Patterson...On the upside I guess it got a manga?

Also, the day Patterson stops writing is the day the murders start. Pretty sure the only reason he isn't a serial killer is because he channels it into Wordpad.

I'm not entirely sure what happened with the development. It sounds like the original director screwed it quite a bit. She was pushing for Kristen Stewart ( and Patterson was pushing for anyone but Kristen Stewart ). Then she wanted the screenplay rewritten which delayed the whole thing for a year or two. Then she quit. Then the screenwriter died. ( Probably to escape Kristen Stewart ). Then the rights bounced around till someone inexplicably thought it was a good idea to turn to Youtube to produce it.

Once the studio has the movie rights they could do whatever without creative control from Patterson if they so desired and it seems like they did just that looking for a cash in.
