a site without politics

Man if only there was some way of not having to post on a thread about politics, or maybe even identifying whether a thread is political or not by reading the title.

How about you don't click the threads that involve politic? That's one way to avoid them.

If people don't like America, then it is their duty to change it for the better. America is NOT the best country in the world, but yeah there are some that are worse. Not everyone says that gays are ok though... conversion therapy still exists (which is psychological torture and can lead to suicide)

So like, you love America? Even the fact that we spend more on military than any other country, incarcerate more people than any other country, really high costs for prescription drugs and health care...

I rather a site of civility and actual discussion, instead of the circle jerk, flamebaiting, and aggression that makes up this section. I generally dislike people who define themselves by their most controversial views, because they often express it in an inappropriate manner.

An Extended Discussion would kill political talks a great deal I suppose, and perhaps that is the desire of many.

I am tired of seeing dummies here, and dummies there.

Here is a similar thread most likely not the only one?

Okay, I'm through having political discussions on forums...any forums including these. Why bother? You're not going to change someone who's made up their mind. All it is is a sh$% storm being thrown back and forth. No matter how articulate or how intelligent your comments may seem you have no power to changes someone else who has their mind set on a certain notion. You just can't argue with stupid and before you all jump all down my throat for that one, that also includes me. Honestly I just don't have the amount of hate in my heart required to constantly wage into such a storm.

This is mainly aimed at my fellow Americans but I imagine it should also hold true for any democracy. So I'll try really hard to put a positive spin on the whole team red cheerleaders vs team blue cheerleaders vs third party cheerleaders. Exercise your right to vote people. Even if you (God forbid) choose to vote for Trump who I cannot stand and personally despise that is still your right people. You all have the right to vote for who ever you want and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I'd rather see you vote for someone I hate than not vote at all. The same goes for Hillary and the third party candidates. Just forget all the crap for a moment and at least come together on this one idea, this one principle that we as a nation have the right and privilege to vote for whoever we want......just like we all have the right to say what we want. As much as I hate reading all the bs talking points and conservative nonsense they still have a right to spout such nonsense and I would gladly give my life to protect that right. Make sure in this highly polarized election that you would do the same for others and cherish those freedoms that we all hold so dear. That is at least one thing that should always bridge that gap and bring us together in unity. Good luck to you all.

The mods talked about creating a sub category for politics back when this shitshow was just starting, but because they don't have much authority over the site that's not likely to happen for a while. Honestly, most people probably only go to the political threads so much because they're the most active. If you go in other threads and get people more involved there, then you'll definitely take some momentum away from the political trite

So you think we should stop policing the world and let countries defend themselves again instead of US doing it for them? Reduce our military and let countries do their own thing again?

Not necessarily. What really sucks is that we spend so much on military, and yet we don't spend much on veterans! They risk their lives, their mental health, and to come back to the US to possibly face homelessness!

Is democrates a Greek philosopher? Im noticing a lot of people on your side of the fence completely lack the ability to spell.

Aside from that, I like how you bitched about political threads and immediately starting whining about "democrates" and gays. Wtf are you even on about? Obvious troll, please feel free to leave America.

If you don't like the way things are run, you have a voice and a vote as a U.S. citizen to sway change.

That's literally the definition of a democratic republic.

America is not a Democratic country nor is it a Republic. The USA is an oligarchy.

Well, as a matter of fact, yes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democrates

OP, crunchyroll is perfectly fine for discussing politics, imo. it has a pretty diverse set of forums that allow for this kind of discussion, despite all the trashtalking and annoying threads. Plenty of other sites have this going on, too. There is a whole segment of the forums here devoted purely to anime and manga, so if that's all you want, just hang around there. But I don't see a reason to be upset that there is a forum for pretty much whatever.
