which internet isn't? I'm not getting the top speed with Cox either..

15% less than the advertised speed is the usual rate ... not to mentioned the router you are using and how far you are etc..

1TB is not enough for 4K streaming-- 1 hour of 4K streaming will use up 8GB or so

for typical household of 2-3 people with 1080p video streaming and gaming 1TB might be enough.. but you will need more data soon. They lowered the 2TB limit for the premier and up plans to 1TB as well to maximize profits by charging people fees for going over.

Did you even bother to look at the links I posted? Also "1TB is not enough for 4K streaming-- 1 hour of 4K streaming will use up 8GB or so" 8gb per hour... so 1TB is enough to stream 4k as 1 TB is greater then 8gb... Go back and look through some of the links I posted. Its better to be well informed on a subject ^^.

I see i'm not the only one using consumer reports. 1 hour of 4K streaming = 8GB of data is right from their site.

Animeaddictann69 is agreeing with you that 1TB data cap is not enough for 4K contents and that you don't get the advertised speed from any internet plan (Cox included)

If the consumers are keep bending over without any resistance, this is what you will get 2TB down to 1TB --- $10 for an extra 50GB

Man, I don't know anybody could cope with caps on their internet plans. They used to be around in the UK on Sky Broadband and a handful of other providers, but lately, they seem to have completely disappeared which I assume is because the majority of providers were giving everybody unlimited usage and it cut into the competition.

I think CenturyLink is planning to lure in new customers from Cox . You will also get a $100 Visa prepaid card too now

holy crap that's horrible, I can do 1 terabyte no problem. I stream a lot (netflix), mine is still unlimited, but it's not cheap. but paying almost 70 bucks and still unlimited... they know we need/desire it so they will charge it and we will pay it. there are a few services that you might be able to use, like netzero but it's broadband speed not really fast at all, but it's cheap and unlimited so there are options, just not as good as quality of what we're use to. another broadband speed net is Verizon.

Same for Comcast. I just got an email like 2 days ago because i'm over 1tb from streaming Mixer and watching crunchyroll. It says the same thing. 1tb and $10.00 per 50gb over

I'm from Canada and currently paying 100$ for 50 down and 5 up. I wish I could get 100 down and 10 up for 70 bucks a month.

Every ISP nowdays gives a data limit of 1TB, its nothing new and 1 TB is sufficient for most ppl, even harcore gamers or movie lovers that have the average most common speeds which are around 30-40 mbs. Might be be slow for some but hey if you want to have that lighting fast speed then get ready to waste some good money. Always remember that the faster internet you have the more you can do thus the more data you consume.

I have 1Gbps download without any data caps.
The biggest issue is that there are far too many monopolies when it comes down to internet providers.
I am thankful for my download speed and lack of data caps, as I use about 2.5-3TB per month in downloads, FTP, and uploads in general.

I have AT&T Fiber.
They have data caps unless you're on their 1Gbps connection, which is unlimited.

O_o this is new to people. I guess I have been with Comcast too long to be surprised. When I first got comcast you got two warnings. The first time they would shut off your internet when you exceeded the allotted amount. Then the second time they would not let you do business with them for like a year or two.

Stuff like this is why I am slowly transitioning back to using DVDs and a local pile of MP3s for stuff.

......Wishing my data cap was 1TB.... It's currently only 350GB per month before you get charged. Not many good options around to switch to either.

For those not aware, Cox did recently provide customers with access to an unlimited data plan, albeit at a price of an additional 50 dollars per month. It may not be ideal, but it's at least an option now.
