I think not yet. The game library is still growing, and there is no apps like Youtube, Netflix, Hulu and other apps. The price is CRAZY. The online feature isn't here yet. So, maybe.

i would wait until Black Friday to get it. They will have some good bundles for the console + more games worth buying.

The price of accessories for the Switch is pricey imo.

I was about to say the same thing...I always wait a couple years if I don't have the cash to throw away. I used to be a big fan of Nintendo when I was older, but over the years I've noticed they've been recycling their stories/games for some time now. Just my opinion.

a couple of years might be too long for some..

I realized the same thing after 5 Pokemon games on the Gameboy Advance

No, I hear ya! I've always been the one who was behind everyone else because I would rather wait until the price decreases lmao...My parents were the same way.

It's only 100$ more than a 3ds, i believe that's pretty fair.

The Wii-U was a marketing disaster where many parents thought it was just another controller for the Wii and not a separate console. Even when people did know it was a different console it wasn't much of a change compared to the Wii so many thought of it as just a slightly newer Wii.

As for me, the Wii never appealed to me and the Wii-U offered nothing to peak my interest so I never got either of them.

As for the switch, maybe Black Friday. Until then, I can't justify the price or the price of the accessories when I'm happy enough to game on PC right now since many JRPGs have many their way onto Steam. Mario and Zelda aren't enough for me to justify shelling out the money for a Switch right now.

Well, things are a bit different here in Canada. We see things a bit later than the American's do and I asked my gf what console she wanted (PS4, Xbox One, etc.), and that's the one she chose lmao.

I say it's worth it. It's less than three months old, and the games library is growing rapidly. If you're interested in getting one, I'd get one when I can, and not wait for any price drops or holiday sales. Nintendo can't keep up with the demand, even three months after release, and that was off-season, so if you can get one at MSRP, go for it. I can't see them getting out of their own way to ramp up production in time for "the holiday season" in three more months.

No, because it's the first Nintendo console where you have to pay for the online. For a console with a main Pokemon game rumored to be coming soon for it, it would endanger Pokemon fans who play online like myself. Only if they ever make the online free later in the lifespan, I would consider getting one. I also feel like the third-party support would later leave the Switch like it did for the Wii U.

I'll probably wait until more games come out, especially for metroid prime 4 and xenoblade chronicles 2

Sure, if you're an early adopter. I want to get one but I have Gamestop credit and I don't want to blow it all on their price-gouging bundles. I just want a console and one game, not useless accessories and 2 forced games.

Meh at the moment no since it's lacking titles. However with the other major 2 consoles are ditching split screen and local co-op gaming looks like I will eventually pick one up since its the last console standing, plus Nintendo exclusives aren't on Steam.
In another year or so looks like I will get around to picking one up when the inevitable price drop finally happens and be in the Nintendo gaming camp once again.

With the current games I would say yes. I bought it straight away since I'm a Nintendo nerd but at the time there was only Breath of the Wild, honestly the games out right now will keep you satisfied. I have over 200 hours in BoTW and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has around 70 hours. There is ARMS and Splatoon 2 to play as well when Spla2n actually comes out.

There are plenty of indie games on the Eshop and if you have Nintendo credits on your Nintendo account for the 3DS you can transfer it over and merge the account. I'm not sure if this works for the WiiU as I don't have one. There is Minecraft on there too, I'm not sure why but my friends who already have it on other consoles have been really enjoying it on the Switch and played way over 100 hours. That's the portability for you.

Taking a look at the sales it's doing really well and they are having trouble keeping up with shipping demands to the extent that they had to put a few of them on planes to get them out faster (which costs more), the future looks bright for Nintendo which is nice to see after the devastation left behind from the WiiU and Iwata's death. Iwata would be happy that the Switch is doing so well at the moment and at the current momentum with the new games and Metroid making a return it doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon.

Christmas will be good with sales as parents would be buying their children Mario Oddysey (Might be selling out fast then though), I would buy it if I were you as there is plenty of fun to have. You should take a look at the game library yourself and decide if it's worth your money but I can say that it is one of the best consoles I've played on for years. With all the new games coming out too I am very excited to play them on their release, hope this helped somehow.
