To respond seriously, I wouldn't be interested in such a service. It's one thing to meet someone in person first then maintain in contact online thereafter. However, I find it hard to really see if someone is a good match without getting to know them face to face since I look for a certain comedic aspect that is hard to see just by reading text. Now, a convention speed dating event on the other hand, that would definitely be more up my alley.

what if you live in a town full of hillbillies where no one has a job due to mass unemployment and refuses education and is the highest drug town in your state as well as unemployed.

A town where 90% of the residents are jackasses.

That's a situation where i am in and the option is fuck doing outside stay inside it's not worth all the bullshit you will see and here and oh god the shit people here say (Farming towns are hell)

I here you, i'm in a boring suburban town where people raise kids here and there isn't really much else going on for anyone else, but hey sometimes when you love your job its the price to pay

Some of the things I've found over the years include:
(Note: these are stories heard from friends)

1) Long distance relationships have a low success rate. Meaning, both sides have trust issues of "Is he/she cheating?", which leads to enough drama to start a show over.

2) Because its the internet, that girl you're talking to named (just an example) "Emily / 25 / F" is actually named "Billy Bob Joe / 33 / M". In other words, catfishing is possible

If you're going to try to find a relationship with someone, just meet them from within your friend circles in real life, get to know them, then drop the million dollar question "Do you watch anime?"

Ahh, this reminds me of my good ol' days on RuneScape. I had a shell skype just to call people to make sure they were who they said they were. That is the easiest way to get by catfishing.

I still remember my friend dated 3 catfish in a row. Dear Kimberly, Adrian and Emily. The poor man learned the hard way.

Lol, i actually talk to women alot on a regular basis. Only issue is most of them are married and the few single ones never seem to take a interest. And what i mean by this is i have a 5 year old daughter that i have custody of. I literally bump into women with kids all the time. i also go to parks and other places where their will be dozens of women with their kids. But ive yet to get any sort of interest from any of them. Im not cut off from the world but i will say i dont do the bar thing. For one most of the guys ive known in my life that did pick women up in bars the women either are loose or druggies. Yes you can run into that random girl thats out with her "loose or druggie friend" that never goes to bars but i dont have the kind of cash to go to a bar once every 3 months let alone a few times a week to see whos a regular and whose not.

Its just tough since i just turned 30 a few months back, im divorced, and i have a kid. I have no job currently because of injury i suffered at work 2 years ago. Ive been trying to find work but after hurting my back i cant go back into the same field so ive been desperately trying to find something that i dont have to kill myself to do. I constantly get weird looks from women that i meet and talk to when they assume i have my kid for my 2 day visit and find out i have custody. Like seriously, i have never in my life been more offended than i have here in the last 6 months. i had one women who looked at me and just said i cant believe a man would get custody ever over a women.. Lol the crazy thing about it was we were having a great conversation until she started asking about the subject.

Im just venting to other otakus here, dont expect anyone to have a answer but if it fun to wish upon a star and compare wishes with other similar guys sometimes is all. After my last relationship most people probably wouldnt wanna date but im the type of person who enjoys doing things. But ive literally been stuck at home since my ex wife left. Other than doing daily activities with my little girl i either dont have the funds to do something adventurous or i refuse to do stuff alone. im one of those rare guys who i actually never cheated, never ran our marrige the only way i saw fit and i always did selfless shit for my ex. Yet just because i was never into having sex more than once or twice a week she decides to basically go and screw about a dozen guys. Worse thing about it was she came to me with this idea that she was curious about women, had this long discussion with me about how she wants to find out about it and how she's into the idea of having a mutual GF for the both of us. Like you wouldnt believe this shit honestly. its something most guys dream their wives would say. So im a modern man and agreed. But come to find out she went on one single date with a women, if failed with flying colors so she then starts a 8 month dating rampage. It started off with me saying one or two nights a week would be cool for her to go out and find friends and maybe some girl she could bring home. Then it slowly molded into her only coming home 1 or 2 nights a week, hardly sleeping at home. Rarely seeing our child. Coming home only to pick up clean clothes that i washed btw " on top of all the fighting of when i didnt have a certain thing cleaned when she wanted it even though she never told me she wanted that certain thing" it was basically hell. all the while i was in the worse pain of my life with my back, going to the doctor constantly. going to physical theropy and the chyropractor. ALL while watching our 3 year old daughter full time. It took me 7 months to go back to work after my injury and among all the issue i was having at home with my wife i go back to work for 3 weeks and the job i had fires me. Accused me of lying about going to a doctors appt a sinlge day and doesnt even allow me to defend myself or get proof i was there. Pays me a extra weeks pay for what reason i dont know, guess it was guilt. Then i go home only to literally find my wife on the couch with another man while my kid was in her room watching a movie.. then she leaves me a month later.... maybe i should write a memoir do you think folks would buy it haha

I mean, you could try to just meet some girls on here and work through a friendship, and see where it goes? I wish you luck, dating websites and online dating is a waste of time anyway, in my opinion.

there are otaku dating sites but yeah I agree they're a waste and you might catfished...

It wouldn't be any worse than something like ChristianSingles or FarmersOnly.

Video chatting doesn't exactly prove age, name, legal identity, or anything else of relevance to their existence. It's only a good step to confirm if they are even the gender they claim they are.

I'm not interested in online dating. I think it would be a good idea for anime lovers who are willing to try online dating though. I think it would be a site that would have a lot of users if it was a good website.
