? what's the reason behind the yellow rubber duck again ?

None I know of. It's actually a bit of controversy because a government body spent money on it and no one can figure out why.

our national Animal is the Beaver. We also venerate the Canada Goose.

this is why i'm in favor of keeping my tax money local... i hate it when garnish my paycheck to spent on useless things like this (just speaking in general- I'm not a Canadian)

can they at least do a Canada flag floating on water (made of balloons or colored buoys ) or something ? if you are going to waste tax payers' money at least do something that people will get

July 4th is on Tuesday... i hope we don't see a giant yellow rubber duck here too..

I'm sure you get corruption and incompetence at the local level too. In fact I'd argue city politics is the worst for handing sweetheart deals to criminal organisations and the like.
