The heroine of Kakegurui needs help. Protagonists these days are so psychotic, and Yumeko is the worst of this year. Back in my day, I remember when all you need to win was to believe in the heart of the cards. If you lost, you just didn't believe hard enough.

Whatever happened to having faith in not only humanity, but in inanimate pieces of overpriced paper?

Don't know what you're talking about. Games were even more sadistic 2 decades ago.

He didn't believe in the heart of the cards.

Or the water.

Well that first episode was great, just as expected. Though, every time I watch a Mappa show, something seems off. The animation is great, but something about the atmosphere or the sound design, like they never use the soundtrack right or something. I don't know what it is, but it's not that big of a deal. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where the story goes from here. The OP was really interesting, and the ED was...a little weird. Everybody loves the pyscho MC, but I've always just been one for smart characters, so I'm just looking forward to see what she can do with the different games and such. Anyways, yeah. This is looking to be one of my favorites this season.

I expected better after all the hype. Opening was the most remarkable. I'm gonna wait for the crazy chick with the gun, the one without eyes and the loli to appear to make a more concrete judgment.

If it weren't for Netflix, I'm pretty sure it would. But because they are the only ones allowed to stream it and they don't do simulcasts that all I can do is wait for somebody on the dark side to sub it.

Please tell me Ryouta gets killed off in like episode 3 or something. Please? We don't really need a character to explain every little thing that's going on, especially during the gambling bits. It's really not that complicated and, frankly, it feels a little insulting.

I'm honestly not a fan of the creepy faces. I feel like a little too much focus is put into that area, and frankly it's not something I want to see. It's alright though, it doesn't take away from the story too much. I wonder if each episode is just going to be another person and another game, or if they will mix things up a little.

Girl, does this look like the face of a human to you?

So far there's just the predictable pattern of an egotistical girl who is supposedly unbeatable gets challenged by Yumeko, they try to cheat through obvious methods, Yumeko acts ignorant at first, then goes into serious mode when the stakes are raised and completely destroys the girl. I could tell the cards were going to be marked. Even so, I'm highly entertained by the absurdity of this crazy show. It's fun watching Yumeko get turned on from the thrill of gambling and going psycho in front of her opponent.

That's his entire reason for existing, people don't seem to realize that he ISN'T the MC. Just because the first person to show up talks, doesn't mean their the main character of a show lmao. But don't worry, he gets sidelined pretty hard later on.

Episode 2

Wow, Yumeko really showed Itsuki who's boss there, and that she knows right away when somebody is trying to cheat their way to victory. While Itsuki's trick would have worked against anybody else with slight pattern differences indicating what patterns indicate the card, Yumeko's observation is on an entirely different level. Sorry Itsuki, but she won't be adding any of Yumeko's nails to her collection. In the meantime, Kirari is rounding her squad to take out Yumeko.
