Well, folks, it's that time again. Time for the week where every hour of your day is likely to be devoted to watching speedrunners basically destroy games you like, love, hate, and possibly never heard of all for a good cause. Summer Games Done Quick 2017 starts today. As usual with SGDQ, Doctors Without Borders is the chosen charity.

Check it out on Twitch:

Schedule of games/runs:

Personally, I'm really looking forward to HalfCoordinated's run of Nier Automata. HalfCoordinated is an amazing runner who basically can use only one hand and Automata is a great game. And he basically gets to lead off the marathon which is a cool honour too.

I'm also really looking forward to seeing the Strider 2014 run as, once again, I absolutely love that game and am very interested in seeing how it gets broken wide open.

Damn once again, no F-Zero runs. When was the last gdq with F-Zero? In 2015?

Anyways, good background noise for the week. There will probably only be like 10 goods runs from this event, lots of cringe moments, and some bans.

Often just keep the stream open while I'm doing some other stuff on computer.

There are quite a few games this year I'm looking forward to. Like Dishonored 2, Dark Souls 3, Ys Origin and Divinity. Also even though I've seen Portal and Half-Life speedruns many times, they are still fun to watch.

HalfCoordinated's Nier run was great though I'd still say I prefer his Momodora run from last year if I had to choose.

The Strider 2014 run was sick. It was an excellent combination of a ton of straight up game skill and knowledge with the peppering in of a few game breaks. I always like my speedruns to be more focused on just being damn good at the game and less focused on glitches so this was right up my alley. Well worth a watch if you missed it.
