Synopsis

Set in the year 2045. The world has been contaminated by Irousu (mysterious invaders who suddenly appeared), and humans find themselves restricted and contained. Standing boldly against these invaders are ordinary girls everywhere, without a powerful army or even weapons.

The Shinjugammine Girls Academy is a school for these "Hoshimori" (Star Guardians) destined to fight the Irousu. The player is assigned to this academy to train the girls and take back the contaminated Earth. And so, once again, the chimes echo through the sun-strewn schoolyard to mark the beginning of classes today...

Inter-dispersing their fight with a music concert pretty much killed any possible tension though, didn't it?

Felt like a Love-Live ripoff tbh.

This show already sucked like a morbidly obese mosquito in a blood bank, but was it really necessary for them to borderline plagiarize the design of Luluco for their main character?

The game was released on 16 April 2015 in Japan while Luluco 1st episode was aired on 1 April 2016. How come it's plagiarism?

Is that design from the game though? I can only find it in material related to the anime.

Not sure, but things can take years to produce or be adapted, or adaptations may be considered stand alone. That being said...

Already in love with the girl in the bottom left corner.

Look how waifuish she is!

That was fine, I guess. It definitely wasn't exciting or new or all that well put together but it didn't have me scratching my eyes out. I'll give it another episode or two to see if it picks up but I'm not really impressed so far.

I mean she's only been the MC in the game as well as it's icon and mascot since day 1.

She is one of the main 3 and probably the most popular of those 3.

Kurumi on her opposite side with the long yellowish green hair is most popular.

Episode 1

Well, that was pretty much what I was expecting, a gimmicky and generic cute girls kicking ass show. There's not much of a story to speak of as the girls are just slaying monsters and training to become defenders of justice. But these girls have been off their game recently and as such, they will need special training. Not much setup as it just gets into the marketing nitty gritty. I'll give it another episode, but this show had been on a short leash entering this season being the only reason why I would have a HiDive subscription.

As someone that plays the game, I enjoyed the anime overall.

I can see why some people won't like it or watch past a few episodes.

It's basically this season's Schoolgirl Strikers, but with more cute/moe character designs.

The characters look just like the do in the game. So do the enemies so far.

Animation is decent enough. Music too.

I was really worried the show was only going to focus on the main 3, but it looks like it's going to spread the love.

As an Urara and Kokomi fan I was very happy to see them a few times. Urara is just great.

I am a bit disheartened they went with their Floral Form costumes for the anime. I was hoping they would go with something a little less Generic, but in the game itself it is basically their "battle mode" uniforms per the story.

Speaking of story I already know what story they are doing, so I am a bit spoiled on that already, but it's decent enough.

I don't keep it a secret that I am a Silver Link fan through and through. I will support just about anything they do... just about.

I think the show is solid enough, if full of tropes and generic ideas, but so too is the game.

I am happy it seems they are going with a lighter approach with the show too. They could have gone really dark with it tbh.

I think if people just check it out for what it is, if they like these battle girl kind of shows they will enjoy it. Especialyl with such a large cast. There is a trope/architype for just about anyone in this show.

Oh.. also... Hinata was adorable AF. She is adorable in the game too, but just seeing her in the anime made me smile.

And for you Nisekoi plebs Nao Toyama is Nozomi btw and listed as a "main" character even though in the game she isn't.

Ooh tried watching this before I went to bed, could not stay awake. Might try again during the day but shows like this, like Winter's Schoolgirl Strikers are just really dull to me.

School Girl Strikers and Battle Girl High School are both games first. All these morons whining about the anime are probably whining just to seem edgy or cool. Just no. Grow up. Their anime may not be perfect but they are still good anime.
