I don't always agree with my friends, neighbours, co-workers etc. Many of them aren't anime fans but if they were I could see watching anime with them. Some of the people on the internet especially the forums here...not so much. and I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

If we're watching then we're not talking unless its already done or there's a commercial and then we're talking about what we've watched. Anything annoying or past quick questions that can be quickly answered get shushed or I walk away and finish watching it later by myself.

If they can follow these guidelines I could sit and watch almost anything with anyone really, if they want to talk politics afterwards I've got no problem.

I guess it also depends on how deeply personal the politics happens to be. Is it politics to want to avoid people who misgender you or deadname you?

i don't really know anyone interested in anime I've suggested to them try it but non of them have really tried any
