Anticipation thread here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-985699/youkai-apato-no-yuuga-na-nichijou-tv-anticipation

Yushi Inaba is forced into an awkward living situation at his uncle's house after his parents pass away. He decides that when he goes to high school, he's going to live on his own, and finds an ultra-cheap apartment named Kotobuki-so. But it was a monster apartment, filled with monsters, humans, and ghosts! At first, Yuki doesn't know how to deal with these eerie monsters, but after spending time with these strange creatures his closed heart gradually begins to open.

This seemed mostly like an introduction episode. This kind of reminds me of the Morose Mononokean from last year, a slice of life yokai show. Though, Inaba is definitely quieter than Ashiya was.

Episode 1

So it begins with Yushi wanting to live on his own, but as fate would have it the school's dorm got burned and scrambling for a new place to live for six months on the cheap, and he happens to find one. The catch is that it is haunted, but his neighbors are pretty friendly even if they aren't normal. Isshiki is a pretty interesting guy while Akine sure is well on her way to becoming a great exorcist. Pretty much, this is mostly setup for big things to come, and the premise is certainly interesting enough for me to keep going for the time being. It's definitely not in the elite class of shows, but at least it's harmless fun at the moment.

Not a bad debut at all. Not really sure exactly where they're going to go with it in the longer term but it's fun enough for now at least.

Something about this show feels very old school... and I like it.

Seems like potentially another chill show with a fun/funny premise like Flying Witch. Not as high production value as FW, But, that's also part of the charm I feel.

Even the OP and ED feel very old school as well.

I wonder if that is all intentional?

This isn't a show to set the anime world on fire, but it still seems like it is going to be a lot of fun. Maybe a good pallet cleanser after watching something more crazy or disheartening.

Not a terribly exciting start, but not a bad one either. Worth at least a second episode to see how this show pans out.

Pretty interesting so far. I'm always ready for a good Slice of Life series, and the youkai premise definitely doesn't hurt. If this gets anywhere close to as good as Natsume Yuujinchou, then I'll be happy.

Bird 1 - Sugita Tomokazu
Bird 2 - Koyasu Takehito
Bird 3 - Morikawa Toshiyuki

I had to rewind and rewatch that part a few times. Amazing stuff right there.

Anyways series seem interesting, will probably follow. Wonder if I should go read up on the original series too...

Ahh this seasons Yokai show, I get that yokai are the Jack Tripper (if you don't get the reference ask and I'll explain it) of Japan but are they really that popular. Seems like every show with them recycles the same stuff.

Yeah..there is a lot of yokai stuff this season but they are all have a different angle ...I like it

So far I like this one too ..I have to listen to those blue birds again

Wouldnt it fun to live in an apartment like that...as long as they don't mess with you

A solid start. I'm not entirely sold but I'm liking the possible directions. Plus it's featuring Miyuki Sawashiro, one of my favourite seiyuu.

If I knew the yokai were of the not-evil type I could get used to living there. I certainly ran across enough strange people in my college dorm.

While I'm thinking about it that realty agent sounded an awful lot like the narrator for Yamishibai.

The show did a decent job with the narrative and introducing the characters. Very straightforward but I'm not really impressed by the male MC so far.

This series also gave me some Natsume vibe as well with slightly more comedy.

Akine is such a pretty girl

Sticking with this for a bit. It's got a nice solid mid-90s vibe to it. Doesn't seem like it's going to be anything great/amazing/memorable, but definitely something solid and enjoyable.
