This episode was deep in many ways. Hate, horrible death, vengeance.

So sad how a parent can do that to a child because it reminds them of the other parent who they loath. I have seen that happen ( but not to me).It is so difficult to understand how a parent can do that to their own flesh and blood offspring when one grew up being loved by a parent/s

Then A beloved friend dog, loosing his life just to be with the boy in the next life.

However the part that really got me the most was when our MC cried for missing his mother, dammm I was crying too It just touched me too close to home. I missed my Mom the most .

Overall it was a very good episode. If I were him... I wont leave that apartment

Could be just me, but with the staring and hand-holding between Inaba and Hase in the OP and ED, there seem to be overtones they become more than just friends.

Well, Mizuki Hase seems to be listed as a "main character" in My Anime List. Going by how they are posed in the OP. I am going to guess that either Hase is Inaba's main love interest or the main antagonist of the anime!

I mean, if Hase was going to be just Inaba's main partner in friends sense, they wouldn't bother putting in shots of them facing each other. Friends fighting side by side is conveyed well enough with the shots of them standing side by side. But the fact that they took the time to draw them facing off and Episode 1 started with them beating each other up - I would say that the odds are Hase is the main antagonist.

Of course, that means they will be a couple at least in fandom land even if they are not in canon! So... win either way?

There was also Inaba's dream. To relieve the heartache of his loneliness, the Dream Stone allowed him to have "pleasant dreams". But to include Hase with his deceased parents, as if on the same level of personal closeness, Hase obviously represents happiness in Inaba's life. That relationship has me intrigued.

Honestly, right now, I am thinking Hase is already dead (pulling a Zera) or going to die and thus becoming a resident of the yokai apartments.

Third Haunting

Man, that's quite a timeskip this episode. o.o;; Inaba's only supposed to be living at the youkai apartments for six months, but we're only on the third episode and it's already summer break, which means he's been there close to four months at the start of this episode.

Takenaka is annoying. I hope he doesn't get much screentime, because he's just...annoying. I don't like those types that forcibly insert themselves into your personal life for their own selfish interests.

Anyway, it's only the third episode and we're already, by the five minute mark, near the end of summer vacation, meaning he's only got one month left in the youkai apartments unless he decides to stay. He seems to have adjusted quite well, as his surroundings don't even bother him anymore.

This episode focuses more on Kuri and Shiro, the little ghost boy and his dog, who I personally find to be the gloomiest characters in the series.

Inaba really is an empath. One of these days, it's gonna break him...

I'm with everyone else on wanting to see more of Akane. Cool wolf is cool.

I do wonder if Yushi's friend will remain only a pen pal the entire series or if he will play a bigger role. I kinda wish he would move into the apartment building too, but I doubt that will happen just as much as I doubt Yushi will leave.

The show keeps bringing him up, and he's prominent in the OP, so I expect him to take on a bigger role eventually.

My guess? Around episode 5 or so, he's going to decide to drop by for a visit, probably after Inaba decides to stay at Kotobuki-so instead of moving to the dorms.

It's just you. -_- Close friendship between two dudes does not automatically equal Super Happy Fun Gay Times. You can be so close to another guy you're practically brothers, that doesn't mean you're going to show up in the pages of a BL manga with them.

Episode 4

And the time has come for Yushi to move into the dorms where he's supposed to be staying. But before that, here comes Takenaka and he's Yushi's worst nightmare as he and his band of thugs have been bullying Yushi. Of course, when the supernatural gets involved they could only scram. So after having a party, he moves out, and as expected he misses his old life. Now that he has moved out that he can't see those spirits anymore, and his new life just isn't glamorous. This is the life he had wanted all along, and yet it feels empty, something that is pretty typical of these kids of shows.

I don't know why Yushi continues to be such a prick to his time with his uncle. Yeah his cousin is very distant, but his uncle's family they were good people, it is not exactly Cinderella's step family you are dealing with Yushi.

So episode 4 Yushi already moves out, I thought this would happen in the mid season, we are only on episode 4.

I think if the people you're living with make it obvious that they are only letting you stay with them because they feel obligated to for some reason, whether you're a child or adult as long as you're powerless to change the situation it feels suffocating. His aunt was trying to put a pleasant face on what was a uncomfortable but unavoidable situation. His uncle was at best indifferent. And his cousin seemed downright intolerant of his presence. Hardly the warm welcome of an orphaned kid, or any kid for that matter. I think anyone would have wanted to move out as soon as possible, and would rather be put to torture before going back. So, while I won't say they were bad people, I'd hardly call them good.

But I was also surprised with Yushi moving out already. The only thing I can think, given the name of the anime, is that he moves back in in the next episode or two.

We went through about 6 months by the last episode so it didn't surprise me that he moved out during this episode. It did feel a bit odd though since so many shows end on that note. I'm glad they are giving Yushi the time to figure out what he actually wants in a place to live other than not his uncle's. Seems like he'll need a push from friends to actually go back to the Yokai Apartments but he'll probably end up there by the end of the next episode.

I was surprised the writers didn't try to use some gimmick to get him to stay at the apartment. After all, taking the show completely away from the location it's premised on is quite the risk. However the writers have shown a deftness that makes me confident I will enjoy this direction which will likely lead back to the apartment eventually once Yushi figures out what he wants in life.

I think that Yoshi actually loves his Aunt, Uncle and Cousin, but I got the feeling his moving into the house made a tolerably comfortable life into
one they can barely make ends meet. He knew he was a burden to them and felt guilty about that. His cousin comes across badly, but we're not really given a look an extended view of her. I suspect she resents his presence because she is/was denied things she thought she needed or wanted. I don't think she hates Yoshi either and some time apart might give her a better perspective on him. Just my speculation on the cousin and woirth exactly 1/1,000,000,000th of what you paid for it.
