The MC seems to sweat whenever someone talks to him, especially a girl. The over-the-top "ohmygodI'mtalkingtoaGIRL!" trope is super annoying. But, he also gets flustered when his soon-to-be rival talks to him too. Well, at least he doesn't break into a cold sweat when his friends talk to him, mostly.

In other words the MC is annoying. Keeping this in my queue because of lack of good options for me this season. Who knows, it might get better.

Episode 3:

After this episode, I can see some shipping wars starting to happen.

Like the past two episodes, I really enjoyed this one. It was nice to see the MC gradually learn and even make a huge mistake, which I loved his pure look of horror and shame for having even done it.

As a whole, it was a good episode that set the stage for what is to come. I'm kinda more interested in what the other guy that went will do as it is obvious after this competition MC is going to join the circle, but will this be when that guy does too? (Sorry, I can't remember his name at the moment.)

Fukami's voice still sounds really distant to me, but I am starting to get used to it.

I mean just my thoughts but....

I mean I really like this anime but it bothers me how Koshiyama takes a whole minute to think things over like, "oh I need to press faster or I'll lose" when in reality he should only have 5 seconds to think for each round, and I know it's a small thing but because of this I feel like it's a factor to what makes other viewers feel like this anime is really slow. And it's kind of frustrating that it took him two episodes just to get the concept of just PrEsS ThE BuTToN ! ... But I guess it's nice to see Koshiyama learn slowly instead of the usual animes where characters learn things in the span of like an episode, haha.

MC is the typical nerd who's never talked to a girl b4 and while it's endearing to see his first moments interacting with a girl, it gets annoying with how distracted he gets with just the concept of said girl. But I guess over exaggerated moments makes for funny moments and are part of the reason why I love anime so much!

And about Fukami's voice... The VA Umika Kawashima is doing fine, and I really haven't noticed anything awful about her VA'ing, and frankly I'm glad that we don't have another girl that needs to be moe-ified to extreme with a hyper voice all the time and blahblahblah. Fukami is smart and that really is what makes me like her even more than the fact that she's super cute!

In general though, I have high hopes for this anime! I like how it's going for characters with high intelligence and still makes something as boring as fast buzzing seem interesting! My thoughts are scattered all over the place and I don't have my opinions set in stone yet due to only being two episodes in, but I will definitely keep up with this episode and enjoy it until the series gives me a reason to not do so otherwise! I can kind of relate with this anime on a personal level due to the fact that I am currently in my high school's chess team, so I definitely know how it feels to be in a "sport" that's as exciting as it is popular (which fyi, isn't very).

We met of a new character this episode and seems like she is a tech nerd. Also we got to see a new other quiz bowl team, with Fukami's older brother (?). I feel like in the end of this anime I'm going to know a bunch of new information about random stuff lol.

This episode was a bit exposition heavy but that's normal for 4th episodes. Seems like the new girl might end up making them buzzers considering that she was carrying around a circuit book?

When that new girl shows up in the library I immediately thought that it looked like the Aho girl

Lots of nice touches in this one, like mom wanting him to change his image for high school.

There was big hinting at that (Fukami having an older brother)! Especially since that character is shown in the OT right after a short cut of Fukami Mari. Maybe he's someone who got her into quiz bowl !!

Also I loved all the confusion at the end. Thought that was really funny, definitely shipping Koshiyama Shiki and Fukami Mari

Thankfully it picked back up this episode. It was fun to see them start to be able to work together as a team. Also, low-current girl cracks me up.

Maybe it's because I understand Japanese, but to me she blatantly sounds like an amateur where as everyone else sounds at least decently professional.

Nice Quiz Bowl battle this episode and we also find out whom the mechanic girl is. The president's younger sister!
