Yeah, I'll stick with Citrus.

I'm just hoping that Citrus gets full length episodes and a bigger budget than NTR. The last thing I want to see is both of them failing and then anime production companies throwing up their hands saying "Well, yuri anime clearly isn't worth doing" when they basically set them up to fail from the start.

But yeah, as a giant Citrus fan that's the one I'm really waiting for. NTR is largely just a curiousity.

A) This isn’t likely going to be a nuanced show. There will be lesbians and that will sell a lot of it to a lot of fans.

There is actually some nuance in the manga that they've already skipped over. It's definitely less filled with nuance than some stories as even the manga is largely over the top drama but the shortened run time of the show will likely have them breezing through most of the nuance that was in play. Will it just be lesbian fan service? Probably. Well, lesbian fan service and drama.

I'm not sure exactly how many people it will attract though given that the cast is largely not the most likable. It'll be interesting to see how those factors impact each other. I'd almost wager that the people most interested in any merch they put out will actually be people who don't even watch the show.

I don’t think they will have any trouble selling merchandise. This might be mediocre Yuri, but it’s better than nothing. As for likable characters, Scum’s Wish proves you don’t need likable characters for people to like the show.

I'd find it hard for people to buy merchandise emblazoned with such characters in the first place if they did not like them. Joffrey T Shirts and Ramsay Bolton Mugs would not be what I imagine most people would want.

Not quite sure.

Of course, but Scums Wish was also a really damn good show and it's characters fell more into the "love to hate" camp. They weren't likable but they were memorable and definitely struck a chord with viewers. It's early yet but the anime version of NTR isn't really looking to hit that marker based on the little we've seen so far.

It’s Yuri. It will likely sell well.

You’re probably right, but I still see this as being able to sell merchandise.

Looking forward to the anime making every character in Kuzu no Honkai 2: Lesbian Boogaloo just as unlikable as the manga did.

I meant in terms of "likable" characters and whatnot, and the merchandising associated. I imagine if someone hated a character, they wouldn't wear it, and would wear something if they loved said character, even if one would normally find them repulsive. Some people I imagine wouldn't care that much about the cheating aspect and in turn not end up hating the characters.

And you’re probably right about this show and the characters if it wasn’t Yuri. I’ve just been awful at putting together any argument that’s coherent recently.

From what I understand, the manga for Citrus is way more popular than NTR so it seems reasonable to assume Citrus will get less crap treatment.

Did anyone else have trouble playing this from the app? I stream to my TV and every time I tried to stream this the app shut down.

I believe there are 8 volumes out in Japan (6th volume is about to be released in August here in NA) and I think there is enough material to cover a 12 episode full length series. It may not mean anything to some people but I've got a good feeling about it.

I just finished watching epsiode 1.

From what I can already see it's gonna have an intense story. I'm gonna try to watch the next couple weeks but i'm kinda picky when it comes to yuri. it's not so much my thing.

Don't know how I'll feel about this show in the long run, but the opening and ending are fantastic.
