None of what makes the manga interesting is in this

See, this is the type of commentary I'm interested in seeing. If it's not faithful to the source material, that makes me wary of watching it.

Then again, this is a show that has "NTR" and "Trap" in the title, but has neither element in the show itself.

I think it does have elements of NTR. Girl's got a boyfriend; her friend puts moves on her. I haven't read the manga, but given the first episode I'd say there's plenty of room for this to move from there into NTR territory.

It's simply the fact that it's a rushed mess imo, that entire balcony scene had a few pages of the duo going through mental dialogue with each other. Not just Hotaru swapping spit with her like a wild animal. Hotaru in the manga is cunning but she doesn't come off as some weird as rapist in her advances where here in the anime Yuma is looking like some terrified mouse trapped in a corner who's just "going with the flow" so to speak compared to the manga where she's thinking about her advances after each encounter.

But this series is only 6 vols with the anime being 9mins :/ so who knows what'll happen. It's NTR but not NTR in the whole Hentai trope type of way, it's more just standing for the fact that Yuma is trapped into these scenarios while the NTR is well...both Yuma and Hotaru are cheating on their boyfriends with each other, hence their boyfriends being NTRd.

Episode 2

Hotaru is so broken, and it's no wonder why as she didn't have any friends back then, until she met Yuma who swore to protect her. So now, Yuma and Takeda are hooking up well, but things aren't going as well for Hotaru and Fujiwara. So the four go to the amusement park over the weekend, and after riding as couples, Yuma and Hotaru have their yuri moment in the Ferris wheel. Hotaru, she's just creepy when it comes to love and all.

Episode needed more Yuri time. Wonder if hotaru was simply trying to suppress her feelings for Yuma by dating those guys but now that Yuma has a boyfriend hotaru cant/won't keep her feelings and lust hidden anymore. Also having what seems to be a jerk for a boyfriend might be the reason also.

my only hope for this series is that the author doesnt chicken out by having Yuma end up with Takeda just because he is a nice guy. full yuri all the way!

Once again pretty much hitting the big spots but without much of the more nuanced character building. I really hope that those who are enjoying this go pick up the manga for the "whole story." Of course, if you're just not enjoying it at all then it's probably not for you regardless.

so basically now industries are running out of ideas they decided to adapt shows that are practically hentai instead of adapting things like mushoku tensei. Thanks anime community.

that has always been a thing in anime though. and this type of anime is niche.
