Poor Matsuno (who?) couldn't do his introduction to the team. And when he finally did, the music cut away just long enough for him to say his name before it cut back in. Someone in the studio was having fun at his expense.

New characters for a special practice but this anime is progressing super slow.

Enjoyed the new characters although jealousy is getting at an all time high within the middle schoolers.

Well since there was no Ballroom yesterday I had a look at Dive. Is the sea diver their version of Haru from Free?

More like Rin.

EP 8: This episode was the best so far. Imo, the singular aspect that makes or breaks a show is character depth. Dive had seriously lacked that aspect. This episode breathed life back into the ho-hum story with a nice backstory for Shibuki. Add to that some ordinary teenage interaction with Youichi (cute!), Tomo and Shibuki's family and another level to the show just developed. It was desperately needed.

this is expected when an anime is not in CR and a little mediocre, and its a sports anime , no one tend to discuss it.

I'll discuss!

The show is poorly written. Episode 8 finally put flesh on stick figures, but that has since eroded away. The competitiveness is not gripping. The characters themselves struggle to invest in their own wins. Shibuki has the best character depth with his grandfather's past pushing him forward. The others feel flat. A sports anime should be exciting and pumped up for action. Egos are on the line – potential failure should play a bigger role than it does. And realistically, there should be more smack talk than just "I'm going to win."

I agree , this show is poorly written.

The character development is weak, you dont even want to root for the characters

at episode 12
Even with all my favorite seiyuu, they couldn't save this show

really weak sports anime
