There is, it is called the graphene oxide filter. This method is energy efficient, and if slowness is a factor, we will jack up the filter surface or have more than one filter running in parallel. The only problem is we need to mass produce this graphene sheet, else we will have to resort to other form of filtering which might not be energy efficient or cannot desalinate.
