Hi Everyone!

I may be outside the USA for a year. I know that Netflix has region-specific content, or in some cases deny access if you're in some countries. I was wondering if any other members have encountered trouble with accessing Crunchyroll content in other countries. If so, please share!

well in china there is almost nothing in the catalog and I am amazed that the forms are not blocked one of these days it will get flagged by the government then blocked. Vpns are a hit and a miss so I gave on my membership and went back to being a pirate simply because I had no choice. In Japan again there is almost nothing listed except for RWBY and some other stuff. But the difference is at least vpns work. I have yet to try South Korea and Taiwan. I forgot to mention depending on where you are going you might be better off using Netflix. They have a bigger selection locally listed than crunchyroll does.

Thanks, GSM! China is where I will be heading. I was thinking about using a VPN while I am there, but it seems like you haven't had any luck with VPN's working well with Crunchyroll. [MOD - Removed pirate references. That kind of thing is against the rules]

Hi there,

I moved this over to site questions, but I have to tell you that using VPNs to spoof your location is a ToS violation for the site, and listing off pirate sites is also a no-no, so I removed that last from your post.

The licenses that CR negotiates are region-based, so your content availability will definitely change depending on where you are in your travels. I'm fairly sure you won't have much if you're in China, unfortunately, but it is negotiated on a show-by-show basis, so you never know!
