bit of advice if want to post a link should use the hyperlink button the button that looks like a chain between email button and the image button so instead of it looking like http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-995005/g20-protests?pg=2

it looks like

They are unironically protesting capitalism
Like so

They can't be protesting capitalism... That's just dumb. First world problems I guess.

That's not really what's being protested here. Okay, a few people may be doing that but there are a lot of different things being protested, like with every G20 summit and like those other ones the general trend seems to be people staunchly against the actions of one or more G20 countries. Of particular note within this summit's protests are objections to big bank bailouts and other such actions that citizens feel put businesses before the people. I mean, I guess you could call that protesting capitalism if you really wanted to, but that seems like an extreme exaggeration to me. Still, there are other things that really don't have much to do with capitalism at all, such as anger towards the lack of transparency in the summit, wars, environmental responsibility or lack thereof and a bunch of other stuff.

No really, I remember you generally being pretty sensible in the past but now all you post is garbage like this with so much wrong with it I don't even know where to start.

At least I can say uncletim was right on the money.

I'm not saying that you're doing this, just saying that people on the left are doing it. So don't take it personally.

I think I can speak for everyone not in the left when I say this... People on the left in general think labeling people things will suddenly make them shut up and go away, the label tactic makes people go away for the moment as nobody likes being called things. But eventually people learn that many on the left use labels so much that they lose their original meaning and just start to embrace it at that point. And because people on the right meet no real opposition (outside some labels) they get more and more extreme in their views.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that applies only to the left. It very much applies to the right as well. Hence why we see more and more extreme "activists" who are willing to use violence in some twisted way to achieve their political goal.

Well I wouldn't take something said about the left end of the political spectrum personally, since I'm not really a member of that, but ok.

I don't disagree with your assessment necessarily, but I do think it's disingenuous to characterize any one group like that since over-labeling is something I see people of all walks of life do. Take the term SJW, for example. That's not a label created or even really used by the left at all, in fact its used against them more often than not, but it's completely lost its meaning, just like you were saying. When the term as first emerging I myself used it quite a bit when referring to people like Anita Sarkesian, who basically said that attractive women can't be in videogames without being sexist or when Brian Michael Bendis started his now famous crusade to replace Marvel comics characters with shoehorned "diversified" replacements. But now I've stopped using it because the overwhelming majority of people who still do just use it as a blanket term for people they don't like, completing the cycle of overuse you were talking about. Hell, I once was called an SJW myself for being a man with long hair. That isn't even any kind of progression, it's just completely off the rails of the original definition.

Maybe someone would've if you did made a * [ url ] *www.source.com * [ /url ]* link in your text and not tried to hide them inside your text.

Also you souring Tumblr really shows that you need to get more critical towards your sources. Oh and comparing these reactions to what they used to be are like comparing water to air.

Like I said, it doesn't just apply to the left. The right also tend to do it's own labeling of sorts, which really is bad as it may make some people use violence as a weapon instead of having a open conversation about things.

But I do find there to may be a physiological reason behind why both sides do the labeling and that's human nature. We as people like to label things and I think this is something that has gone too far with some people as I see them needing to label everything with one thing or the other.

Oh and fun fact about SJW, there are actually some people who self identify themselves as SJW's.

The fact that conservative Christian Democrat leader is viewed as left by you guys is silly. http://agoodcartoon.tumblr.com/post/150463485250/mlk-and-civil-rights-protests-in-cartoons-then

What the fuck? When did I? You know what, nevermind.

That's probably a troll account. They argued that riots are good because they were good in the civil rights era because it was sticking it to the man, but made no mention of race riots and similar events throughout history where it was racial minorities being attacked by the dominant social group. Anyone who knows what a pogrom is shouldn't be able to do that.

For the record the link is a compilation of old political cartoons from the 60s and stop using the word Tumblr to refer to anything other than a database seriously it's a minor trigger and saying that meant you'll post it 5000 times. But yeah I was referring University of Ohio

The G8/G20 has never NOT had protests. When you get that many world leaders together there's always going to be enough bullshit on display to spark protests.

European Antifa is the original flavour Antifa that's actually seen and opposed fascism. It's not the hipster wannabe's in the US.

Its only fair, since anarchists created fascism which resulted from the first world war and took the main stage of the second.

In what possible way did anarchists create fascism?..
