first episode was alright. Like someone said before, the MC reminds me the on from Days.
Also, he picked up that move very quickly. I went to dance classes and it was really hard

I wanted to hate this show.

I really did. For reasons I dare not say to alienate a certain sub-culture of anime fandom anymore.

I, for one, liked the character designs and expressions.

The music is quite good and the op fun to watch.

Maybe not for others, but Tatara is pretty relate-able to me on a personal scale. I, like most teens, had no plans post high-school. I was a jock during (football and baseball). I didn't have much to do after other than work. Couldn't afford college (I did finally go 10 years later). While it wasn't dance for me, but theater. Still same basic ideas and principals. I did a lot of acting in local theater groups and with my church. Even got into a travelling puppet production for a while.

Shizuku is just.... damn!

I dug the dancing itself too. My friend's parents back home competed so I got to see them a few times.

Definitely liked this first ep. probably more than I should, but I did and I am quite intrigued to see how it progresses from here.

That seemed alright, though his sudden commitment was a bit glossed over, and perhaps his ability surge too, but I guess it speeds things along.
Also, like with Yuri on Ice, I occasionally get distracted by the body proportions, for example how long some limbs are and giraffe necks at times .

I do like Shizuku though, she seems cool. Definitely wouldn't be able to keep calm at that age, in those casual, intimate positions.
Funnily enough, I did attempt to do the moves with my naive interpretation, but don't have the space to attempt a box.

Loved this, really like the style it's got going. I hope the fluidity of the dance moves wasn't just because this was a first episode. Always enjoyed watching "professional" ballroom dancing, not really a fan of the "Dancing with a third rate former actor/athlete with name recognition" show. I want to see what 2 pros can do not one pro and a hack. And Shizuku, damn looks like Yumeko from Kakegurui is going to have some competition.

I can't say I'll be sticking with this for the entire season, but I enjoyed some of what they've done in the debut. Frankly I found the animation and anatomy in the dancing portions to be unsettling and sort of grotesque in a way but, to be fair, that is pretty accurate to competitive ballroom. There is just something unnatural about the way competitive ballroom dancers move and look, and the show does nail that.

The story outside of the window dressing feels a little well worn and cliche but it feels earnestly told at least.

All told, nice enough start to something that felt a little like just a "Yuri on Ice" me too based on the promo material.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!! IT'S SO GOOD!!!!

Production I.G. is really giving it there all in this one! It's so gorgeous and fluid in the animation!!! Unison Square Garden is the perfect band to do the opening for this type of show (also did Blood Blockade Battlefronts ED song too). They really know who to get you into a dancing mode!

I WANT MORE!!!

So far I like it.

Character design is bit different I dont like that the MC has such huge eyes .I do notice that the necks look long but in pro ballroom dancing ie waltz , the women extends their necks pretty far . This one in an under 21 pro competition

Here is an amateur group

I took some classes before , I guess the younger you are the flexible you are , their is much strenght training and stretching for this kind of dancing though.

Too bad CR didnt get this one , I think this one will is going to create a lot of buzz

You know, I just started watching Hajime no Ippo and the first episodes of both shows share some striking similarities. I have a feeling that more than a little bit of inspiration was taken here, though I suppose if you're going to take inspiration from somewhere, Ippo is a good choice.

Episode 2 has been delayed and will be coming tomorrow. From episode 3 onward it will continue to air on Saturdays. The delay is for the annual Ongahunohi event, which is a music extravaganza.

Episode 2

Tatara is getting his first look at what competitive dancing is all about, as well as get a glimpse of what figures to be his biggest rival in Kiyoharu Hyodo, who is Shizuku's dance partner in this competition. Hyodo sure is a force to be reckoned with in the ballroom, while Tatara is still finding his way. But Tatara's strength is that his eyes can easily pick up on the footwork as he can keep up with Hyodo, but he still has quite a lot of refining. Hyodo initially came off as an egomaniac, but it turns out that he's a lot more humble than he looks. Great to see that Hyodo lit a fire in Tatara that got him to really dedicate himself to dancing.

Episode 2

Heh, Tatara has some interesting instructors.

Shizuku looked great in her dancing dress, very elegant. They also captured the character expression pretty well from this show imo, especially when Hyodo glared at Tatara. That moment felt almost surreal.

I think the dancing movements were well captured as well. Only part that I found distracting is still the necks...they're so damn long.

Tatara already shows potential as a dancer despite being an amateur. I just think he needs to improve on his mechnical skills a bit. Pretty good episode.
