Another great episode. Great to see them explaining some of the dance moves. Also the expressions and reactions from the other characters and people in the crowd is just too good.

I loved seeing Shizuku in her white ballroom gown too. Very pretty.

I'm also a little confused about the knee thing. My guess at this point is that Hyodo wasn't pushed but fell on the already weak knee when gorilla man confronted him. I'm still not sure where I sit on this show overall though as I can't say I'm overly enjoying it largely due to the typical MC issues.

I'm really enjoying Tatara's continuing evolution as a dancer, and his sheer love of dance. Like some others I also find it a definite plus that they quickly recognized that he learns better in other ways than the norm, and for all that he may be a natural in many ways, he still has to practice and has much to learn.

However, I have begun to wonder about the fate of both Hyodo and Shizuku. First, no matter what the cause was for his delay in appearing, Hyodo is hardly being fair or nice to Tatara by faulting him in any way. Rather the first thing he should have done is give some sort of explanation to Shizuku as his partner, if not an apology. If I were her I'd be angry that Hyodo not only didn't think he owed me first an explanation but instead went after the guy who had kept us in the competition. Second, Hyodo might after that fall be suffering from injuries of a kind that if you put a lot of stress on them, like dancing a competition, might cause real and long term problems. Since the anime began I felt that it has been hinting rather strongly that Shizuku and Tatara would eventually pair up, and I'm wondering if the groundwork for how that will happen is being laid now.

My take on it is that Hyodo doesn't really care that much about Shizuku except maybe as a muse of sorts, and possibly not even all that much about the competition. The reason he went after Tatara is because Tatara "stole" his choreography. That's what he wants Tatara to give back.

I agree with you that Hyodo might possibly not care or think much of Shizuku as an actual person or partner, but rather as a necessary component to his dancing. And quite possibly he was referring to his choreography when he said what he did. Could just be the clothes though. But that only explains his actions, it doesn't make them right or any more forgivable.

Oh, of course. It's more excuse than reason for sure.

My take on the "give it back" situation is that Hyodo has been jaded by the competition, and he realizes this when he sees Tatara smiling in the middle of the competiton. What I think Hyodo wants back is the joy of dancing that Tatara shows, and this is why we see the flashback to the smile before Hyodo grabs Tatara.

Yeah geez what was with him ripping Shizuku's clothes off, was that for fan service's sake? Seems kind of a little much for a show like this
Anyway good episode but like everyone else I'm a little confused as to what's going on (knee , gorilla, etc), and would they really possibly think no one would notice that wasn't Hyoudou out there? Didn't think we'd get Tatara in a competition so soon.

Episode 4

Hyodo sure was pissed off there and he lets everybody know that through his dance. But the injury was too much and after that stunt he pulled off with Tatara, he got suspended for six months. Tatara had nothing to worry about seeing that it wasn't his fault for this mess as he thought it was, but of course he's not the type of person who would just brush that off and move on, so Hyodo had to tell him that himself. So now, it's up to Tatara to fill in for Hyodo, and in the meantime a new dancing pair has arrived.

Episode 5

So the new pair are the siblings Gaju and Mako, and Mako becomes Tatara's dance partner seeing that the talent levels match between Shizuku and Gaju, while Mako and Tatara still have a long way to go. Tatara just fails to account for Mako's smaller body leading to a stumble, but in the end those two build the chemistry they need to be successful. Mako sure is cute, especially when she's dancing with Tatara. That part in the end with the message making fun of Gaju is pretty hilarious going to show just how much of a troll Sengoku is.

It's great to see two episodes today, but now it takes a week off for the world athletes championship event in London.

Better than YOI

Yeah this newest episode was great. Kind of wish I would have saved it due to the upcoming sports break. But, it was a really good episode. Couple new character developments and a big shift in the who's and why's.

This is going to be an enjoyable ride.

Plus cute girls too. As always.
