So I was listening to a conspiracy theory radio broadcast and in between mentioning aliens and secret weapons satellites he mentioned that they are proposing a new branch of the United States armed forces, the United States Space Corps to be formed from the Air Force in 2018 or 2019.

To fight the aliens, presumably.

The data in the DARPA hack included pictures of archaeologist next to and on top of titans remains at a undisclosed location and pyramids in Alaska and in the pacific ocean including underwater abandoned cities at the bottom of the ocean mostly over by Puerto rico stuff like that basically enough to rewrite everything we now about us religion and about history which is why its so classified it would upset a lot of sensitive people if it were publically verified.

This is already part of the Air Force mission parameters. The new Space Corps is simply a training program which produces and maintains more and better specialists in space combat. Much the same way the Navy has the Marine Corps. It's not that the Army can't do the job, but that we need more focused specialists.

The idea is that with the rapid approach of private space travel, we need to consider the possibility of spaceborne terrorism. What happens if someone tries to hijack the international space station? Everyone we currently train for space travel is a scientist, not a soldier. We have no meaningful security forces to deploy in a space scenario, and if we wait until we need them it will be too late.

It's needed to knock ICBMs out mid-flight. You either blow them up in their assent stage or before the reentry phase.

Yep, just like the Army Corps of Engineers is just a part of the Army. Space has always been part of the mission statement of the US Air Force.

I wouldn't be too worried about space-hijackings; physical access to launch vehicles is pretty difficult, and the amount of organization it would take to actually hijack a space vehicle, and then successfully use it as a weapon (which would be pretty ineffective, given they would be nothing more than highly inefficient kinetic energy warheads) is so great that the same effort could be used to seize nerve agents or other much more effective weaponry from government stockpiles. The threat of rogue nation ICBM launches are far greater. Perhaps in a couple hundred years, when privatized mineral exploitation of the asteroid belt is feasible, we might have to worry about "tossing asteroids at cities" type terrorism, but in the near and mid term, not so much.

Categorically false. The mission commanders and pilots of pretty much all US and Russian spaceflight have been drawn from military backgrounds.

I'm sorry, let me clarify.

By "soldiers" I mean "explicitly combat-trained personnel."

I know technically any idiot who gets a military rank is a "soldier," but those are participation trophies.

Yeah, it SOUNDED kinda "Mike Pence, five minutes after North Korea's stunt"-ish.
Like, y'know, before the general laughter set in, and everyone, especially Republicans, were still pretending NK was a real enemy with real weapons.
