Just imagine living in a world where the lottery is at 9.5 trillion dollars. What exactly would you do with that money if you won?

See the problem with that amount of money is that I could do the first two, double the budget of probably the 20-50 biggest charities, fund several very high-level/tech science projects

And still have about 6-8 trillion left.
Try billions next time.

That is such an impossibly large number that it doesn't even make sense.

If it was invested in some simple index funds, you could spend 380 billion dollars a year without touching the principal.

If the interest alone (380b) for just one year was invested separately, that would still net you 15.2 billion a year for life.

If just one year of just the interest on one year of just the interest was invested similarly, that would still be 608 million dollars per year for the rest of your life.

If just one year of the interest on just one year of the interest on just one year of the interest was invested similarly, that would still allow you to spend 24.32 million dollars per year

If only one year of interest on one year of interest on one year of interest on one year of interest was invested similarly, you would still have a steady income of close to a million dollars per year.

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I can't imagine what it would be like to have even that much...or why, when someone is already that rich, that they even bother doing anything except retiring.

Still, though, the population of the US is estimated at 326.5 million people currently. If you divided the original total equally, each person would (merely?) get just over $29,000 (single payout), which is the annual federal poverty level for a family of 4. Roughly 1 in 4 families in the US don't make that much. Clearly just giving money away one time wouldn't solve poverty.

On the flipside, I also can't imagine a world where enough people have enough disposable income to make a (weekly?) lottery accumulate to a jackpot of 9.5 T, and I'm pretty sure that rich people don't buy lottery tickets...

If it got out that you had won that amount of money, people aggressively looking for charity would be the least of your worries. I think I'd spend the rest of my life hiding in fear...

Seriously though, I'd probably invest in putting people to work on further alternate energy/ storage technology, and finding a way to make a practical industry which would recover trash back into usable raw materials instead of using landfills and dumping it in the oceans.

I would buy a nice house and rent it out for dirt cheap. Nah, I would buy hundreds of houses and rent them out cheap, but only to people I think deserve it.

Hmm, 9.5 trillion huh? Firstly I would sort out my needs, buy a high-end flat in London, in one of the more expensive areas, buy everything I need/want (Manga, anime merchandise, a new computer, gym equipment, etc) this would probably equate to about 5,000,000 at max. Still have like 9.499995 trillion I think (My maths is rusty as all hell) buy the one that each member of my family wants for them, as well as my friends, will cost perhaps 2,000,000 (Depending on what they want). Still have 9.499993 trillion left.... ok. Pay of all debts I have, I don't need to invest in anything because I already have more money than the entire GDP of the United Kingdom. Give 5 trillion to studios and or people within the anime/manga industry that I feel need/deserve more money, this would involve giving like 250,000,000,000 to Kyoto animation, 500,000,000,000 to Madhouse etc. Still have 2.499993 trillion left. I don't like giving to charity so that's out of the question, I would most likely go out to find actual homeless people, buy them a house, and pay for all living expenses, giving them like 1,000,000,000 each. Still have like 2.299993 trillion left. To be honest, this number is far too large to comprehend, although with the remaining funds I would most likely double the budget of most scientific research projects (I don't know which) which still leave with at least 1.5 trillion, with which I would either burn or find some other use for it.

I would do all of the above. Alright, in all honesty, I really don't need that much of that trillion seeing that not even the entire budget of the USA is that much, so I'll give it to those who need it after I make sure I am financially secured, and while I could live lavishly, I prefer not to if I can help it. While I like to have a high-end home, I prefer to keep the size modest seeing that big places are just too much for me to manage and maintain, so a downtown condo would be what I would live in with that money rather than those big homes.

Financially secure myself and some of my family members. I would like to study subjects I'm actually interested in. As for charity, I want to create my own along with the start of a company that is good for the environment and creates jobs along the way.
I'm glad 95 trillion isn't a real prize though.. I wouldn't want to be haunted by enemies all my life. (And I don't have faith in humanity.) I would probably build the biggest charity in the world and while stimulating the european content, help create decent housing for poor all over the world. (However, this doesn't sound realistic. Just like 95 trillion isn't realistic.)

I'd still live like an average joe and spend my money wisely. I'm more about saving since you never know what could happen. I do know I'd be buying coffee's at Tim Hortons every day though!

If you have 6 trillion, you don't have to spend your money wisely. You couldn't run out even if you spent millions each day of your life

Even millionaires and billionaires spend wisely. Like I said, you can never know what happens. One day you're living rich, the next you could be homeless. That's why even if I had endless amounts I'd still play it smart. Life is unpredictable.
