Love it already. The genre and setting aren't ones that have been done to death. The art is beautiful. The kids don't seem like dcks who can only see in black and white. The setting kind of has that Ghibili vibe with the whole children, beasts, and coming of age. There are a lot of good routes for the story to take. The ultimate goal for everyone would obviously be, see what's at the bottom, but its not quite the end all be all; Nanachi has the goal of catching up to her mom and stuff; it could be an endless adventure, or maybe some hype apocalypse sht. For sure super hyped for this.

Yeah. I think more people should give this one a shot. It seems to have broad appeal potential.

That was absolutely amazing. I did not expect this show to be that great. I didn't know anything about it, and I tend to be very cautious of shows with little kids as the main characters. I am glad that I was proven wrong. I will most definitely be watching this show through the entire season.

Also, that was one of the best first episodes I have ever seen.

When I saw the visual (the one with the two kids and the monster) for it I thought it's a (low-budget) anime for kids, but the tags and the summary didn't confirm that. So I watched the first episode just to see what exactly it is (I was sure I'm going to drop it after 5-10 min.) and it was gorgeous .
The style, the atmosphere, the music, everything was done so well. Even the characters are likeable.
Can't wait to see more of it.

I have the same feeling about this show that I got from Little Witch Academia, which I considered easily the best show for the past 2 seasonsI I I also see a lot of the same quirkiness in Riko that I saw in Akko, both characters had the same demeanor that makes for a great lead character

like LWA I believe this show is going to stand out this season from the rest of the pack for all the right reasons

the great hand drawn artwork and soundtrack are awesome

The OP song is pretty good.

Pacing seems to be 2-3 chapters per episode so far.

Episode 2

Riko learns about her mother Lyza, who made her final cave raid not long after she was born in the abyss. Her whistle is found and Riko takes possession of it while learning the truth about her family. The curse of the abyss comes from the fact that Riko was born in the abyss, and Lyza got her annihilator moniker from that raid where she left a bunch of comrades in the dust to retrieve a relic. That was some backstory there, and it's no wonder why Riko's determination is on a different level. Next time, there's something waiting at the netherworld's bottom and Riko is determined to find something by making that journey.

Everything about this world is so cool.

I'm so curious about what kind of monsters, adventures, and relics they'll encounter over the course of the season. I look forward to when it just goes over the top hype. In my imagination, Lyze discovered an ark to help humanity escape some impending doom, or there is some world boss that they need to put to sleep.
