I actually thought this weeks episode was pretty solid. I loved that it never succumbed to the temptation to explain to the viewer the meaning behind the dream and how to overcome the problem. It let the scenes speak for themselves. This felt like a mature way to approach an issue that is affecting a lot of people in the real world, not trying to sell them a quick "just do this!". Her way out of her dilemma was a very personal one and not a miracle cure for other people to use.

Possibly the reason it doesn't feel as exciting is that there is a lot of repetition going on, with few new locations and the same cycle of scenes going on and on. Rather like the cycle of a disorder such as bulimia.

EDIT: I also loved how you start off wondering who these random kids are out of nowhere with no reaction from the MC until boom, it's actually her as a child.

Well this was a garbage episode. I'm sorry, but it really was.

- The animation and pacing for the dream segments were terrible.
- It made almost no sense.
- The logic of the eating disorder flowed ass-backwards.
- The researcher singing that retarded curry song like a little kid was incredibly bewildering and off-putting.
- Worst of all, this episode COMPLETELY ignored the rules by which this series operates: "Witches" are only supposed to come from people who are suffering from "Sleeping Beauty Syndrome", and yet Airi was completely functional and going to work and living her everyday life (and having her eating disorder) in addition to being the dumbest witch yet.

I'm sorry, but everything past the well-done (and painful) opening scene was garbage.

This week was okay. Honestly, the show has been bouncing up between terrible episodes to watchable ones.

Episode 5 actually had my interest as it featured an figure skater but unfortunately, the stress got to Mirei as she desired a more normal life.

The episode was more lighthearted thanI had expected though. Again, since each episode focuses on a different case, it had a different mood. This episode had a bit of romance in it as well but I think it's important that Haruto made her realize what really meant in her life. Honestly, I think when the show stops trying to be edgy, it gets better. By that, it needs to stop relying on shock factors and focus more on social problems that people can relate to.

This eps was okay not as strong as the other ones

Someone who want to live a ordinary life but I thought the ending seem to make the whole thing pointless.

I wanted to watch 18if episode 5, but it didn’t have the English subtitles.
The video was actually a RAW copy with out any subtitles at all.

Episode 6 felt so freaking random. It went from exorcism to mecha....
What the actual fuck?

I really wish the show returned episode 3's style. Seems this show is still trying to explore social issues like bullying though.

So by now, it's proven that this series uses very avant garde art style for telling its stories. This week...

So did anybody else just flat out SKIP this week's episode?

I could not deal with that bullshit art style and it looked like it was going to be a really stupid episode, so I just skipped it.

In my opinion, this show brings nothing to the table besides an unorthodox approach to storytelling. This is exactly the type of episode I wouldn't even consider skipping. I did think this episode was rather stupid, but in a very different way than I initially expected. Most likely, your impression of the episode would change if you do watch it all the way through, but I really can't say whether you'd think the episode was worth watching.

The brutual and true nature of this episode ( The Cambodian Genocide ) Khmer Rouge Killing Fields

I have to give a huge history lesson and the anime was taken from artists depicting the horrors of 2- 3 million people ( 25 % of the population executed Pol Pot was close to Hitler in atrocies

18if EP7 "And now There are none.

This was a horror EP / and truly a nightmare of the events of history

That was the craziest EP yet. People wont like it but that was amazing deep delusional insanity of a dream / realitly / fairy tales mixed together

The Brothers Grimm meet Tim Burton

The one minor rant is how did the girl was driven by POl Pot the dictator and the mix of fairy tales

I get the Wizard of Oz as it was on the table

And one of the worst cases of genocide

Anyway I hope people wont dismiss the animation as Gonzo did a great job using the art from the geoncide to dtive this EP

And the animation is taken from Cambodian artists just a good job of being realistic

The graves are shown as the crater in the anime

Haruto is this strange get-up of a scarecrow and a robot delivers an invitation from Nene ? The Prof is a Lion / so it's the Wizard of Oz set-up

They have to huury as the robot / woodcutter ( Tinman ) losees petals fron the flower on her / his ?? IDK

Thet advance through Asian History in a vague surreal world where they observe Pol / Pot / and Nene among others

Pol / Pot / and Nene rescue a cat Kuro and at firs everything is OK but Pol / Pot get taken away as they try to rescue Kuro again

Is Kuro based on this ?? Manga / Kuro speculation

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manga/Kuro

Turns out Pol / Pot was the evil dicatator and the Witch in the end has Wizardsof Oz / Snow White collections in her hospital room . Also there may have been homage to Alice in Wonderland with the crazy rabbit running around and The Queen shouting "Off With Their Heads
Just brilliant ( When Pot was on the gulitone

And the ED songs in this anime are really good

BTW the ED song is peformed by Inori Inori MINASE

I went and read about Pol Pot and the anime just skimmed how evil he was

BTW when Pot was executed and Pol / Nene said he did it it may been suggesting that the real Pol Pot comiittted sucide awaiting trial.

The men in the suits were probally his President and depuities

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot

The tower is real / Ponhea Yat

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponhea_Yat

Then the island they built is similar where Pol Pot was born

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prek_Sbauv

Cambodian genocide / the missle attack

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambodian_genocide

Khmer Rouge Killing Fields

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khmer_Rouge_Killing_Fields

18if EP 4 "The Witch of Gluttony"

This s a good anime and what a crazy intro / truly " Foof Wars "

More donuts than Krispt Creme / Dunkin Donuts together

Airi Kojima has a eating disotder being told she wasnt dlinny enough ( A valid and sad topic for real )

But she makes curry at her shop which the ptof is eating but she reflects on her eating

Affter the prof keeps bringing food that is in Haruto's dreams

After Lily likes the domuta and she goes chasing after with Haruto chasing her and he turns into a donut after viting one with no taste and vomits / then Lily starts bitin Haruto who has turned into a soy flour donut

The prof shows up eating big cup Ramen and knows about the 4th witch

Aiti has her dream making eatinng curry with her grandma but after in High School and becoming a model she stop going

At her uncle's shop the prof is back / then later Airi is binge eating

Another dream but Airi is having regrets / forward Haruto / Airi are at her grandmothers house and Haruto convinces her to eat / bext day she is happy and pours a bif vowl of curry / I guees she missed her grandmother and the rejection sent her over the edge but she is OK now

Qas a good EP with a lesson

BTW Reader Model is a loose term for what should be average and is used to gauge consumer goods / media etc

The fourth Witch Haruto encounters in the dream world. An amateur model who was dumped by her boyfriend over a slimmer underclassman model. She gained a major eating anxiety following the event, putting her joy at eating against keeping a better figure at odds. Through Haruto's help, she's able to regain her joy of eating food normally and seeks a new love in Haruto.

18if EP 5"The Witch of Ordinariness"

The OP made me cringe / I liked how Haruto made the Prof's breakfast

Mirei was poised as a Favirite for the Olympics but in one of the championships she made a mistake and fell into the sleeping sickness

Haruto wants to help and he finds Mirei wants to enjoy college / life

Which he does / but Lily was kinda of jealous

Later Mirei gets a date with Yuki and despite Haruto says he wont go he keeps an eye on things

To end the evening he takes her skating and he likes how pretty she is doing it as they are about to kiis shes is in the ring again by herself and everybody is yelling to come back

Mirei goes back and awakens but she is very old but seened happy

World-class figure skater Mirei Saegusa is stressed by her current lifestyle and longs for a normal life. In the dream world, she tries to enjoy a normal life, and Haruto helps by teaching her how regular college kids have fun. less

18if EP 6 "Curses Return Upon the Casters"

This was doing good until the mechs which I thoight was a bit off but stiil turned out alright.

Starts put with A Yokai purging a Spirt ftom a man with a knife

We Then see Kasumin and her gang bully Natsuki who they caught shoplifting on a pgone video and demand monet then K throws her wallet in the toiley and abuse her more

At home the Yokai is a TV show and she has posters/ collectibles ETC

Later she tries sucide then wakes up as the Yokai hero Haruyoshi

She is happy and expunges all kinds of evil until she is tired and there is nothing but evil and regerts thins but swears venegance on her tormentors

The Prof reads online that a middle class students are having group drrams as Natsuki haints them

The Prof saves one as she walks in front of a truck

Momo tells the Prof what happened with bullying and Natsuki didnt come to school anymore which then prompts to check the weeb and they discover she is a coma

The Prof tries to get Haruto to enter the dream as it is also affecting innocence people

They find her at the Shrine cursing people and theu ask her to stop as theu her Momo was soryy and her mother is vey sad
She changes to normal but she had a ailen fleet invade so The PROF / Haruto / Nat goe avoard Haruos shipto battle.

They are mechs and win Natsuki says she had fun and had none before she died however Haruto explains The SB dreams she leaves Later Mei / Miku / Kasumin are exposed for their bullying thanks to Momo

I have to say I rather enjoyed this weeks episode, I fear people are expecting far too much plot wise. This show can be everything and also nothing at all, this show to me is just what a dream should be... wacky, random, fun, and at times sad, or intriguing. This weeks ep in particular though was very thought provoking, and the art style did not bother me one bit. the visuals are very, very interesting.... Almost reminiscent of a picture book which makes sense given the ending. (Theres more after the credits btw.) I found myself asking a lot of questions, was she actually in a coma? We know from Ep 4 that Haruto can visit those that arent in a coma too. Is she possibly in a mental hospital? Because what use does a girl in a coma have for paper back books if she has the audio player... did she hear the story of the king from the boy spewing papers he may have drawn himself down the hospital halls screaming "extra extra!" and her mind mixed with the audio book playing is what caused the dream...Or does she live in some parallel world where something similar happened causing her coma....Or is she the tin man not literally but figuratively, the one incapable of loving after the tragic loss of a dear friend and she goes on a journey to find herself, and experiencing all stages of the grieving process allowed her to wake up. I don't know, but i like a show that makes me think a little and try to decipher my own meaning.

I thought the art was worthy of an independent film... although this one was a bit confusing , lots of symbolism.

The episode before was easier to get into.
