I did not say the whole season is weak, it seems to be great for slice of life lovers... just not much in action/adventure category

Telling someone to watch another genre is completely unhelpful. If the OP wanted to watch Slice of Life, he would. I don't watch Slice of Life, Sports, or non Sci-Fi comedy anime because I don't care for them. The pickings are slim for Sci-Fi/Action-Adventure/Fantasy anime this season. Even slimmer on Crunchyroll.

Thank you, basically this in a nutshell

I like steak, i want to go out and eat steak, sadly there might be only 2 places that serve steak at the moment. Telling me to eat fish or chicken just because there are 15 of these restaurants for every steak place or being told to broaden my horizons is not really what i wanted, which is steak.

Unhelpful? How the heck is suggesting a possible alternative solution unhelpful?

Boy have we hit some slippery slopes

No one is trying to MAKE anyone do anything.

No one is saying that you HAVE to diversify.

No one is trying to belittle your taste in action/adventure.

I suggested an alternative to not being satisfied with their not being enough action and adventure anime currently airing this season.

We have no control over what the anime studios decide to produce and what the distributors decide to pick up and broadcast.

If you want to watch anime and there isn't enough currently airing in the genres you prefer you have 3 options.

1.) Find something outside your genre to watch and give a try.

2.) Watch backlog anime or re-watch shows you already enjoy.

3.) Not watch anime.

It's pretty simple.

No one was trying to be a dick at the start of this conversation. Simply suggesting there are other options out there is not being "unhelpful." Whether people want to get upset or whatever over that... well, that's on them.

You can't start a thread and voice concerns and complaints and NOT have people with opposing ideas throw in their own points. We're not all yes men on CR.

Seriously though try Kakegurui, I am trying to be helpful with that one. The tone may work for you.

If not it was worth a try.

The season is extremely weak. Most of these shows look like a guy from the boardroom came down and said "okay we need to make another anime. Let's make one like Re:Zero but it will be completely different! The ccar that kills the guy will be a different color! AND he'll be a totally different gender in the fantasy world! We don't need to bother writing any story, they'll love it."

and.. "Let's make a few more about average high school students doing stupid shit. People will watch it, so just do what ever"
and another executive says: "Yeah Symphogear was a huge hit. So let's make one that's just like that except the girls will be a different style and therefore it will be hugely popular you'll see."

..."We need to make another anime, we've got two weeks to do the whole thing, just throw in some generic looking high school characters. Story? Ah who cares- just make the girls kiss. That'll work."

Summer 2017 anime in a nutshell.

I forgot one...

"The guys in the boardroom noticed how popular Free! was. So let's make that same anime- but we can't call it Free! or we'll get sued. Gotta call it something else..."
Then Jenkins says: "Sir can we make the boys do something else in the water besides swimming? Maybe they dive?"
"Jenkins you're a genius!! What should we call it?"
Everyone in the office sits thinking for a very, very long time. Then Jenkins says- 'How about "Dive!"'
"Brilliant! Okay you know what to do- get to work! The fans will fall for it don't worry! We'll make millions!"

Yes the creative juices were definitely flowing this year.

Pretty much this.

If there's only a small subset of anime that you enjoy, that's fine. There is honestly nothing wrong with that. However, you do have to realize that this means you are automatically limited in the amount of shows out there that will appeal to you. If only 10 shows a season are "action shows" and only 3 of those are considered "really good" so you only watch those 3 that's more on you than it is anything else. Either diversify your tastes or take a break from watching anime for a while.

I actually think that when someone starts a thread like this, or agrees with a thread like this, they should be forced to post the last three series they thought were good.

Instead of trying to defend the current shows, I want to critique what they thought was so wonderful in the first place

Every single one of these are action and/or adventure and are currently airing this season.
All bolded ones are currently airing on Crunchyroll.
Pretty sure there are plenty in the action/adventure category.

Been watching Knights & magic, not bad so far, dont care for the main character being hugely feminine. Love hero academia, did not care for luck & logic or saiyuuki ( saiyuuki is a continuation of the previous season and extremely cheesy) the voice acting of dragon ball super makes my ears bleed. one piece..... yeah.... no

So far, i see two that i can actually see myself watching.... everything else seems to be another slice of life smorgishborg... I know some of you like that but seeing the field dominated by it every season is starting to get more than a bit annoying. The slice of life mindset is getting so bad even my wife is complaining about the anime.

I think this is the problem, more than 3 or 4 good action anime and we feel spoiled which is very sad. There is only so many times i can re watch an anime, and most of the older ones that i enjoy i have watched them a bit to much.
@Yamstarch.... every time i see people trying to tell me to diversify of change it up it honestly makes me disgusted and with a feeling that i need to slap the person. I am old enough to know what type of anime i like, what type i detest, and what type are just... meh ill watch it to kill time.
@alconnow yes i know it is not fully announced this is why i did specify in my first two words, so far. Asking for more action / adventure type anime is not really a big thing when for every one of them there are like 10 slice of life, school, talk about our feelings bs.

Funny how your version of feeling old is acting like a brat. But I guess we all know that feeling.

It does look like a light action season though, hopefully Fate/Apocrypha stays strong. With its staff it should.

But also given your sentiment I'd second giving Kakegurui a shot. For psycho--I mean for science.

Still triggered that Netflix got Kakegurui. I mean, if Amazon got it, at least we would be able to watch it weekly but no.
