Plot Summary

High schooler Masahiro Setagawa is a fairly helpless delinquent, so much so that the neighborhood bullies use him to run their errands. His life changes when he meets high school teacher Kousuke Oshiba, a man whose fighting abilities have earned him a powerful reputation on the streets. Oshiba finds himself with a desire to protect Setagawa, and despite swearing that he's not interested in men, Setagawa finds himself getting more involved in Oshiba's affairs...

First episode is up on Anime Strike.

Episode 1

An interesting relationship is in the works there as it all started when Masahiro was bullied, and then his hero arrives in the form of Kousuke, who is the new math teacher at school, and he's the older brother of his friend Kensuke. Masahiro sure has encountered lots of surprises as there is his hero being a new teacher, and then there is Hasekura, who Masahiro has a pretty bad relationship with and he thought that he would never have to see him again after he transferred out in elementary school. But to his surprise, he's not only at his school, but in the same class as well. Pretty interesting setup so far and while this show is aimed at a specific audience, it does a solid job in giving BL fans what they want.

An unconventional show. Though four minutes in the yaoi alarm went off

Not sure if the show's really for me, but the story telling aspect was top-notch.

Yaoi is fine as long as it's not forced and implied *cough*yoi*cough* This is straight out in the open. Even if a certain someone denies it.

Anyways... The bit with the kitten was cute. I also liked the little flashback parts.

The comedy is good, if not a bit too subtle. But, that seems fitting for the awkward teenage romance.

The color pallet is pretty and vibrant. The animation reminds me a tiny bit of Tanaka-kun for some reason.

I probably won't keep up with this one, but it seems like a good chill out show to watch from time to time.

I am sure the Yaoi purest will dig this one a lot.

So am I the only one put off by the fact that this show is about a high school teacher-student relationship? That's a little bit nasty.

This is a pleasant surprise where the adaptation is much better than the source material. Actually, I'm quite amazed how well it was cleaned up and developed. Not sure how far the anime will actually go with the story, but I'm glad the premise was pursued. Will certainly be enjoying this show!

Hoping more pentagon bubbles will be added to my collection...

Episode 2

So that ominous feeling about Hasekura is explained, and the hostility between him and Kensuke is one-sided as Kensuke is bitter about everything that happened since he left, while Hasekura has no such feelings of that kind towards Kensuke. So in the end, those two childhood friends made up, but then Hasekura didn't just stop there as he decides to enter into a yaoi relationship with Kensuke through that kiss. So his condition for becoming friends is to go yaoi or go home. Quite a story that was and now the second BL couple is established. First, Masahiro and Kousuke in a student-teacher relationship, and now Kensuke and Hasekura where childhood friends become lovers all of the sudden.

"Cut ties with me again.. or sleep with me."

Well, this show didn't waste any time beating around the bush, did it? I wouldn't say I'm loving this show over all, but I can definitely appreciate that given all the "will they or won't they," "do they or don't they" teasing that we usually get.

Problems with Sentai stuff on Anime Strike strike again as the episode had no subs until this morning.

Episode 3

That is quite a cruel joke that Hasekura played on Kensuke, saying that he never thought of him as a friend. It turns out the meaning is just not what Kensuke expected to be as it means Hasekure is in love with him. Kensuke thinks he's out of his mind when he sees what appears to be his girlfriend, but that's just his sister Ayaka. In the end, they made up and formed a mutual romantic relationship, but it wasn't without a few bumps as Hasekura came down with a fever and had to miss quite a lot of school.

Really!? Manga must be pretty bad.

I don't know why folks are getting bent out of shape with the teacher-student relationship, the real creepiness was with Masahiro and what's his name. the resolution made no sense, no one worked for it. Horrible couple.

ep. 3 Why is Masahiro on his hand and knees (fully clothed) after their five minutes of whatever it was the two were pursuing on the school roof?
Is the an XXX version going to be released?

Joyless. Hope the teacher-student relationship is a bit more fun.

While I appreciate that they aren't wasting time dawdling when we all know things are going to work out in the end, I do agree that the way they're doing it just feels disjointed and rushed. There's a way to do things fast without cutting corners but this show just isn't getting that part right with some things that just straight up don't make any sense.

The beginning of Hitorijime My Hero manga is difficult to follow and quite sloppy. However, episodes two and three of the anime jump over to Hitorijime My Boyfriend (separate storyline/manga), which can make it understandably confusing. Especially when scenes aren't explained. Hope the anime switches back to the Kousuke and Masahiro storyline – despite its faults in the manga, it is more fun.

Episode 4

Now that Kensuke and Hasekura have been squared away, the focus now shifts to Kousuke and Masahiro. Masahiro sure is dense there, first he was asked to buy cigarettes for Kousuke not realizing that minors can't buy them, and then the whole panty thief charade. While Masahiro is a hard-working guy, unfortunately he's just totally dense, and that leads to problems. And then there's that situation with Satou where she gave him her sandwich when all the food was sold out, with Kousuke seeing it going down. Masahiro sure is at a loss.
