If you watch a few of the SharkTank episodes before then it's nothing new, it's a growing trend.

i don't know many retailers will be comfortable with telling people that they are selling their products at 3-5x more. Or the information provided is the actual cost ?

I'm sure you see "you save" on many products you are trying to buy now a day

well they do have to raise the price somewhat to ensure some profit sometimes they do definitely overprice beyond what should be acceptable especially since a lot of that would be more going to the owner then some of that heightened cost being used to give the employees a raise or not using sweatshop slave labor

Yeah lets have apple tell everyone how they are making iphones for 200-300$ from thanks to cheap ass chinese labor and charging 3-4x that amount to the western market.

Personally I would like to know how much they are raping me for so I know when to run like hell instead of bending over and taking the big Corporate D.

This is nothing new to the frugal people We know when is a good time to buy certain things as well This is the reason why there's no such thing as DIRT CHEAP either :/

let's put it this way

$20 product cost -- selling for $100 at retail -- so even if it's 70% off-- it's still $30!!

Retailers usually will announce record breaking profits during the holiday season, some said 1/3 of their annual revenue is from Black Friday- Cyber Monday sales!
