I can see why the loli might be a big detractor for some people. But, I didn't mind her. I thought she was cute and endearing. I guess I just watch a lot of shows with lolis and high pitched voices so it rarely gets to me. Like the little loli from Asterisk War. I thought she was cute too.

I do agree with everyone else that that last line was pretty cringey. Still, overall really liked this. Music is great too! I liked the ED too!

Personally, I'm fine with the loli in as much as the character(s) is (are) young girls. In fact, I much prefer how they are presented in this show compared to their common presentation with ages of 10 year olds and bodies of 20 year olds. Even the voice isn't an issue with me at all. The issue I personally have is with "the loli" that is potentially implied at the end of the episode. Thankfully the MC doesn't seem to be leaning that way but that last line along with the ED animation does little to reassure me that the show won't push the characters in a sexualized direction even if the MC himself isn't portrayed as being interested.

The first 10 minutes were really good, had me hooked. The music, the MC, even the Jimmy Hendricks artwork. Then the lolis showed up – personally don't like squeak toys, but I perhaps they would add to the story...? Orphanage, ok. Move the saint out of the way to crawl beneath the church, um ok. Vintage instruments/equipment - bonus points!! Lolis singing: If I closed my eyes they sounded like any other idol band show. But the first 10 minutes of the show had to mean something, right?

Then the last line struck like a hit and run. The ED failed to resuscitate it. The confession buried it.
If I pretend what's under the cross stays under the cross, next week should be better?

Wow, this entire thread seems to be Triggered by loli's LOL????? Where were the good ol' days of 2015? Back then you were literally begging for more loli anime's on Crunchyroll! Anyways, I just want to point out a few things,

1.How can 3 little 10 year old orphan girls find music online on what I guess is the japanese youtube from a person with only like less than 30 views a video.

2.How can 3 girls find out where the main guy lived? By some B.S.?

3.Where are the freaking adults???

4.They want a concert!? How do kids even know?? OMG the money and time, i mean come onnnnnn!

5.Main male character said orphanages are cool and it look like a nice place to live? Is he on crack? Its a effing Church ffs!

6. Pretty sure this whole concept is impossible.

I'm not a fan of music animes because they are boring and very typical etc. and yes i've seen sound euphonium, that still sucked. But I'm going to watch a few more episodes.

Show was Ok but more interested in Shut-in MC not 3 lolis. How does he not go to school? Parents are all good with that? Does he only eat convenience store food? So he gets nervous thinking about interactions with other people is that why he is not attending school and who keeps delivering make-up work?

High school is optional in Japan, although the percentage that don't attend is very low (2% in 2010).

Yeah, that line was awful. The Creepy pedophile vibe that popped up was also pretty terrible at the end. Definitely dropping this.

Heavily agree here as well and I had to put the girl who said that threat (and the other two for going along with it) in the worst, most deadliest part of my personal shit list outright. That and the last scene was enough to make me drop this and give it my worst first impression of this season yet.

So I was informed by someone who can actually speak Japanese that the last line actually said "touch it" not "touch me". It was suppose to be joke where the MC misunderstands what she means (he's thinking her and she is thinking touching the instrument). So it was a faulty translation on Cruchys part apparently.

Of course

I mean, isn't this just another cliche of "he misunderstands what she said"?

It's all about context. I do not think it's Crunchyroll's fault.

I bet it'll clear up in next episode what she mean when she said that line.

People should not turn off just because of that line.

Anyway, so far so good. I'm fan of Ro-Kyu-Bu so I was happy when this show was pick up for simulcast unlike season two of Ro-Kyu-Bu.

Ah well that would also explain him asking for forgiveness too at the end. Hopefully that means that's not where this show is going, though the ED makes me think that's still a possibility.

The context of the scene clearly implied a sexual joke, I agree on that. The real issue people had with it was the supposed blatant invitation, like the girl was legitimately offering her body when she wasn't. If it just said "it" instead of "me" we wouldn't be having this conversation simply because everyone would have gotten the implied joke whether they agreed with it or not.

Episode One:

I can't say much about this right now other than it was cute and slightly uncomfortable at the end. (The MC is a middle school student right?) There are some questions that arose, as some people have already mentioned, about the orphanage seeming to be just a church with an occupation of three and how exactly the came in possession of apparently antique and sought after instruments, amplifiers, and other such things. Also, who taught them to play?

One thing I am really interested in finding out is if the person doing the art for his songs ends up being the classmate that seems to defend him a lot at school or if it is someone different. It seems like the classmate and however the artist may be if not her are going to be the ones with the real potential romance options and that the younger girls are going to turn out to be more little sister type characters. I could be wrong, but here's to hoping.

love the alt names in the show (Ripton Milk tea, SANY, Too Tighters, Goldplay etc) the only one that didn't get a name change was Fender (I think... didn't get a good look) but yeah looking past the loli thing this could be a good coming of age story for these characters. Its a similar concept to "School of Rock" (similar) . Not really a story seen much in anime (unless you count that loli basket ball one and lets try to keep that one away from this one). I feel though it's gonna be a "who helped who" kinda thing not that its a bad thing. anyway gonna give this a try and hope it doesn't get weird.
