The first episode is now up on Anime Strike.

Episode 1

And so it begins by setting up Minori's character as a tragic one as her parents are dead, and on top of that she has been so ill that she has missed school a lot. As such, she has been an easy target for bullies, and my goodness is her life miserable. While Takashi and Kyoko are pals for wanting to stand up for her, that's not so easy to do in this classroom. Things figure to get really emotional in this short seeing that Minori has been living in the dark for so long.

I feel bad for Minori tbh. Her classmates makes fun of her although there's one guy that stands up for her. Turns out, this is both a serious short (not full length) serious show.

My first impressions of this episode was okay, it did give some background storytelling of the main girl. I do expect more of that to develop. Visually, this series felt average imo. I wish this was a full length show tbh.

Going to be tough to watch lots of people are going to relate wishing they could help someone being a target of bullying. I like how they show what the two main characters subconsciously think but still do nothing and allow Minori to be tormented.

Damn they just have to bully the orphan girl. Originally I thought this was a full length, but color me surprised when I saw it was only 10 mins. Anyways it'll probably be the "sad" show for this season (from what I'm watching), lets see how the tales goes on.

Episode 2

And now this goes back to the time Takashi and Kyoko became friends with Minori as those two were doing what they can to help out her situation. Minori was just blamed for disconnecting the air tube to the fish tank that was the work of those bullies, and now she's spacing out looking at fish. So in comes Takashi and Kyoko as they exchange emails and are going to the aquarium together with those free tickets. That was quite an emotional reaction there by Minori after the promise made between the three of them.

Episode 3

And Minori has another friend in Nanami. Even though there's an unwritten rule where those who side with Minori get bullied, Nanami is willing to stand up for her sake. Meanwhile, Kyoko just doesn't feel right after that, but Takashi insists that things will get better once they go to the aquarium. Pretty much, it's transition and preparation as everybody prepared to have a day at the aquarium. In the meantime, Minori just continues to feel so frail.

I can tell this show has Clannad/Silent Voice under tones going rip your heart out after sucking you in. So hard to stand up to bullying in school especially young ages. The part that is always hard to watch is the victim just accepts it like they are numb and deserve it some how. I think the short is doing a good job setting up the story for a little happiness at aquarium?

First step is done, the invitation of the Aquarium was nice. Pufferfish of knowledge.

New friend is made. Nice little humming performance.

Episode 4

And now it's off to the aquarium, and seeing that it's a stormy day that they pretty much have the place all to themselves today. Everybody has such a great time there, but while that's going on, Minori's aunt is so worried about her. That was some pretty cool stuff they saw at the aquarium, but pretty soon it's back to reality.

Episode 5

Just when they got to the clione exhibit, the aquarium closes. So with that, everybody is going to look out for each other, and they talk about attending the festival in the next town over. Everything seems to be all well and good and about to change for the better. Except that Minori has stopped coming to school. So much for all that if Minori isn't even seeing them again, but then again Minori has been having serious health problems.

Episode 6

So now that the backstory has been finished that it's now back to everything that happened in the first episode with Minori out and nowhere to be found. It's back to the aquarium where Takashi and Kyoko run into Nanami after thinking they saw Minori. And then about that mysterious text, it is from Minori as she used an old cell phone to send it, and they finally meet each other again at the summer festival in the next town over. That wait was painful seeing that they were left in the dark, but at the very least they get to see each other again. What comes next, that remains to be seen.

Episode 7

Those three are together again at the festival in the next town over, but they run into trouble when it turns out those bullies are also there working at a takoyaki stand. So they run away, but luckily for them Nanami and three girls are also there telling those boys to not leave their station or else they will go public about their work as the school forbids kids from having jobs. So the first big test of protecting Mimori from bullies goes well.
