I got a gift for a year-long subscription earlier this year and activated it, but I got charged at my normal billing time even with the gift saying 2018. Then I tried to turn of auto-renew account so it would expire in August of next year (because I already paid for 3 more months and had the year gift, and I planned to turn auto-renew on before the gift period ended) but then it said my premium account would expire in August of this year (2017). Has anybody else had this problem and is there a way I can get my premium membership as noted for me to start recurring payments again next year (I still have the gift in my inbox but it is listed as already used)?

You should /contact customer support directly for all account/billing issues. The forums are mainly for peer to peer support.

Pretty sure it charges you as per normal (if you don't cancel) and the gift is added to a future membership time when all paid ones run out (it did with me.) In other words reactivating a paid one will continue that cycle as normal you need to let it run out and swap over and the gift to run out before offering to pay again. Other wise it will be listed as a 'future membership' type thing.

Does the gift membership show up on? https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct?action=membership_history Or does it only show the current and any past ones?

Anyway if you want someone at CR to double check things then follow what eyeofpain said and contact support.
